  1. The wind is really picking up again after a lull from the early hours. However, the rain is relentless, the Tweed has burst and there is now an action centre set up incase people need to evacuate. I know not everyone likes snow, but surely it's better than this awful flooding. T is 9c so feeling really mild.
  2. Very heavy now and everything is covered. The roads are a nightmare surrounding here apparently.
  3. Whiteout at Leadburn but still rain here at Peebles. Ever hopeful though!
  4. We have a covering here which has frozen solid, the road outside looks lethal. Temp currently hovering around 0c, beautiful sunny morning. It's always nice to wake up to the screams of "SNOOOOOWWWWWWWWW"
  5. Hoping that's the rain clearing for a bit. Didn't think it could get any heavier at one point. Looking forward to seeing some action at the weekend possibly but our ground here is so wet. Everything is crossed!
  6. The Pentlands had a good dusting when I was leaving Penicuik about an hour ago. I believe there was some here in Peebles as well but it had stopped by the time I got back. Temps reading at 1c here.
  7. Heavy snow here too, it's not settling either. Big flakes though!
  8. We hit the heady heights of 12.3c at one point today. It's been nice, but windy. One of those coats on/coats off kind of days! Looking forward to the eclipse as well and hoping for clear weather
  9. Complete whiteout in the space of 10 minutes here and it's still really heavy. Pic attached, I can't get it to post the right way round so apologies for any neck strains!
  10. Woke to the slightest dusting on the cars and grass and now we've just had another shower which has covered the pavements. T is -0.3c.
  11. We've just had a very short but very heavy snow shower for about 2 minutes but it passed over pretty quickly. Temp is falling back again today after being in double figures here yesterday.
  12. We had a frost too, but temp is up to 2.3c now with rain blowing in the wind. Quite calm though, for the moment.
  13. Beautiful morning here, +1c at 8am with glorious sunshine and no wind. Fantastic winter morning!
  14. It's 10c here....! Yesterday there was a slight dusting of snow on the verges at Leadburn as I headed into work. Today, I've got the windows open.
  15. Wee wave! Shame you were passing through after a lot of our snaw has gone It's looking awfy sad shrinking away now. But, we've had a couple of nice, sunny days max temps of 6c. I'm bored of the high pressure already, too with another day of much the same ahead tomorrow....
  16. Good new covering here and still snawing. Nice wee surprise
  17. WS was reading -9c at 6.30am and it dipped to -10c as I was driving into Penicuik just beyond Eddleston. By the time I arrived it was a balmy -1c! We still have snow cover, like Mardatha says, birds are starving and I've had my winter pal, the black pheasant, in the garden permanently for almost a week now. He just goes under the bush when we go out to put feed out and he's back out before we are even in the back door.
  18. -1c here at the moment. We've lost most of our snow cover now and I'm not hopeful of getting much/any this week. Bright crisp morning though, feels quite bitter outside.
  19. Glad to hear she was found. We heard the helicopter circling for ages here, thought it might have been Glentress at first. Temp has gone up again as the sun is out, currently 0.3c.
  20. -1.1c here currently and snowing. We've been so lucky overnight and I would say a good 4" has fallen with some good drifting up the back door :-) Hoping for a few more showers before it eventually dies out.
  21. It was a very beefy shower, it's sticking on the grass now. I was surprised how quickly it started to lie, clear again but my w/s is reading 1.6c so hopefully the next shower will cover.
  22. It's snowing quite heavily here now, it's not lying as yet at ground level but it's been sticking from about 100ft up from early this morning. Looking forward to seeing more as the day goes on. The radar is looking fabulous at the mo!
  23. Small top up over night here, roads are lethal, although I've not been on the main ones yet. T is -4.3c currently.
  24. Woke to a very decent cover and really heavy snow at 6am. It's snowing lightly now again. The kids are desperate to sledge and I think we now will have enough to manage it! T is 0.8c.
