  1. The snow stopped in Solihull shortly after eleven. Equated to about an hour & a half of pretty heavy snow, although much of it didn't quite stick to the wetter surfaces. Temp is now 0.7C, with a DP of 0.1C Bish Rugby is more West than East, surely? I always equate Warwickshire with the West Midlands. Bish
  2. Still coming down heavily in Solihull, great stuff! I hope it stays like this & doesn't turn to rain a bit later. Current temp 0.3C, DP -0.3C, these have barely shifted in the past couple of hours. Bish
  3. Great sight outside, heavy snow with really big flakes. The snow gods are clearly smiling on us (so far). Bish
  4. Light sleety rain here in Solihull for the past hour or so, disappointing since the DP is still below zero. HOWEVER, in the past five minutes we suddenly have snow, getting heavy as well - YAY!!! Bish
  5. Morning campers. We did okay last night eventually, once I'd gone to bed! About 1cm or so - nothing spectacular, but better than nothing The Midlands forecast had the rain/snow line pretty much equal distance between Birmingham and Coventry, so a nerve-wracking day ahead..... Bish
  6. Great vid, cheers for sharing. Just a modest dusting here so far, although more might be on the way perhaps. Long day ahead of me tomorrow, so I'm off to bed - good luck everybody for Monday! Bish
  7. Frustrating, isn't it? Of all the times for it to decide to throw a wobbly......... Bish
  8. The effects of the SSW have yet to be felt at ground level apparently, plus this cold spell is only just getting started therefore we don't, as yet, have a deeply entrenched pool of cold air above us. Bish
  9. Snowing very lightly in Knowle now Bish Snowmageddon for some parts of the region, including here very memorably. Great snow event, but very localised. Bish
  10. PPN to our northwest certainly seems to have intensified considerably in the past half hour Bish
  11. For all of you who are interested as to what the week ahead might have in store for us Midlanders, this is very highly recommended reading. Keep up the good work Tony H. We're very fortunate to have such a knowledgeable poster in our midst Bish
  12. Current conditions: hazy sunshine, Temp 3.2C and DP a very nice -5.1C Bish
  13. But the first band is practically knocking on our door already? Are you sure you don't mean the second band? Bish
  14. Very true. Also, marginal events can of course produce those lovely 50 pence-sized snowflakes! Bish
  15. I believe it's expected to pep up somewhat as it heads further south. However, neither event is anticipated to be a raging blizzard. The BBC News 24 forecast earlier had the central swathe of the Midlands under snow between 6.00pm tonight until an hour or so after midnight Bish
  16. Latest NAE charts firming up more & more on the overnight snow event: However tomorrow's event is looking ever more marginal bar for those in the North and East of the region: Bish
  17. That may well be how it pans out for us in the west of the region, although don't forget just because it starts out as rain on Monday doesn't mean that it can't turn to snow soon afterwards Also, the latest 18Z charts look like prolonging the cold spell through to next weekend and maybe even beyond, so potentially plenty more opportunities in the days ahead Bish
  18. Get ready for a lot of very sloshed-sounding posts in that case! Bish
  19. The 18z NAE is looking very promising for Sunday night & the early hours of Monday morning.............. Bish
  20. I think you'll be in a prime position, Supacell. You're further North and East than most of us on here, plus you've got elevation on your side as well Bish
  21. It's looking precariously close for those of us in the Solihull/Coventry area, but I think we should just about be okay. Most of the charts I've seen today have us just inside the the snow line. East Midlands looking good for a snowfest. Good luck everyone! Bish
  22. Wow, really big flakes coming down all of a sudden. YAY! Good thinking Batman! Bish
  23. You should be well placed for the Monday event though, fingers crossed Bish
  24. Very light snow here in Knowle. Nice surprise to wake up to! Bish
