  1. Distant rumble just now and the lights dimmed - certainly is varied this weather we're having!
  2. Yes there's a particularly potent lump of mayhem on its way judging by the radar. Feels considerably cooler tonight. I reckon The Beast will have a bit more tonight...
  3. Grumble of thunder just now - looks like some beefy showers trundling up the north coast towards the Bristol channel. More rain
  4. Starting to rev up around these parts too - lights flickering intermittently. Miraculously my rain gauge has spluttered back into life so might get some idea of rainfall for the first time this winter! Will be interesting to see what the beach looks like tomorrow.
  5. Righto thanks very much knocker - fascinating weather we're having!
  6. Hi knocker - so is that what that red line on the radar is - a cold front?
  7. Looks lively on the radar - us Cornish are going to get soggier methinks. Is that a squall line forming?
  8. Zilcheroo in my garden - bucketloads elsewhere. That is the law. It will be so.
  9. As far as I know - flood gates at Padstow harbour held up well and I think Wadebridge was ok. Some damage to the beach at Constantine. Erosion of sand and a wall has been partially swept away. Nothing out of the ordinary for this time of year.A few inches of snow would be nice though...!
  10. Nice work gtltw - is this primarily to higher elevations? Eg for Cornwall - prob. Bodmin Moor. I shall keep my watchiest watch face on for the watch period.
  11. Hail and thunder here from an isolated cell just off the coast. 4 seasons in one day!
  12. Yes noticed that just a moment ago - some deep reds and whites in that lot. Looks nasty.
  13. Oh dear - those warnings are concerning. Hope folks in Wadebridge and possibly Padstow take heed. Will it ever stop?
  14. Wind and rain have picked up again now - looks like a bit more to come. Looks angry on the radar.
  15. Yes indeed - my twitter timeline is bursting with updates about flooding and downed trees. Going to be a big clear up needed to get things moving again in the morning. Rain has eased here considerably - is this just a lull or is the worst over for us?
  16. Wormster that's terrible - hope you can get cleared up and have a relatively good Christmas. Good luck to you too Cyclonic. Fingers crossed.
  17. Thanks for the screen grab. Looks pretty angry! Was a couple of miles away from me - so was completely unaware.
  18. Tornado reported in one of the bays near me - Trevone. Bay at approx. 7.30am this morning. Some damage to garden buildings and other outside structures. Chickens killed but no-one hurt as far as I know. Only just found out about it from a friend. Lots of pics on Facebook of the aftermath but unsure if there was a funnel cloud or even if it was actually a tornado. Wasn't expecting that!!
  19. A friend reported a tornado (not sure if a funnel was seen or not) in Trevone Bay (near Padstow) at 7.30am this morning. Some damage and a friends chicken house was sent flying killing her chickens. Photos are on facebook but I'm not great with embedding photos from elsewhere. Anyone able to check radar returns for that time/area?
  20. Very windy here - has been all day. Easily stronger than Sun/Mon. House is shaking!
  21. Very, very blustery here on the north coast. Much windier than Sun/Mon storm. Little rain but I think that may be later this evening for us. Read about a flood warning for the north Cornish coast - not surprised - the sea is really churning out there. Lost power for a short time this afternoon - wouldn't be surprised if it goes again.
  22. Very blustery here now - I can hear the sea roaring. Rain has stopped for the time being. Not sure if we'll get the full whammy up here on the north coast but an interesting night on the forum nonetheless!
