    Ooh not long now. Has been quite gusty here all day but has now clouded over. Will be interesting to see how all of this develops. Hope my greenhouse survives!

    Thunder again here now! More lightning this time. Sky signal has gone and rain is picking up. I've come to the conclusion that radar watching jinxes my storm chances. As soon as I stop watching - a storm arrives. Edit: PS legritter - glad to have you back. Hope you feel better soon.

    Gentle thunder here!! Clouds are very dark - have seen one very feint flicker of lightning. Extremely muggy feeling. Oooh after all these weeks of nowt - little nieces are running around shouting at the storm to come! Little storm chasers in the making I think. No rain yet but very threatening.

    Yes quite heavy rain but no rumbles or flashes that I could see - cleared through here now. Meto app indicated heavy rain later tonight but I haven't checked to see if that is still predicted. Edit: Apologies - what has just gone through was what I was looking at earlier today on the meto app - got me timings wrong!

    Fairly heavy rain here now from the first lot of rain moving in from the west. Will be interesting to see if what is coming up behind it gets electrified.

    Thanks for that great analysis AWD - funnily enough I saw those images when I was flicking through the radar part of the meto app. My garden could do with a bit of a drink! Has started to drizzle here but has been overcast most of the day. Still warm around 23ish. Would love some atmospheric fireworks but the reports from others are keeping me going for time being. Thanks AWD for taking the time to post.

    Does anyone know off hand if lightning (like in that youtube clip) could trigger photo sensitive epilepsy? Was pretty strobe-like!

    Very heavy squall here - high winds, heavy rain and flakes of snow as well. Talk about four seasons in one day - was lovely a couple of hours ago.

    Ha ha ha. Such a bloke! Must admit I saw one or two fellas that looked in a similar predicament this afternoon! Convective stuff sounds interesting - will definitely be radar watching - thanks for the heads up AWD.

    It is snowing!!! Just a few flakes but it is more than I've seen for a few years so it'll do me. Bitter cold out now.

    Seeing as the Mendips will be hammered as soon as Mullender takes flight - I think us snowless types should hire a bus and trundle up there. Leave a key under the mat Mull and we'll house sit for you. Jobs a good 'un.

    Very windy here now - quite an interesting line of potent showers forming off the coast of Wales - should get quite squally later on tonight.

    Nearly 12 degrees here and belting it down. Going to buy some waders tomorrow (not joking) cos we're going to be a bit soggy for the next week or so. Wind has got up too. (And not even a flake of dandruff these past couple of weeks! Boo hoo)

    Ha! Just realised the radar has gone a bit wonky. Thought it was the slowest moving weather ever! Reports are sounding good - I hope it makes it up to me!
