Looking at the Met office radar some of those showers effecting the sw and south look very heavy .
So some people who were thinking great let’s have an evening barbecue are going to be hacked off to say the least .
A pretty poor effort from the BBC and Met Office who made no mention at all of any showers .
Most of it not reaching the ground.

Was a fast moving feature. Had about 5 minutes of heavy squally rain with about 50 mph gusts!
Sheringham and Cromer got the full force apparently with lots of lightning and thunder there!Marham reported 70mph gust as it went through

Squall line approaching here, with a fair bit of lightning on it over Lincs!! Wind really getting up. This has gone rather under the radar with Eunice getting all of the headlines.
All of 45 seconds here in Hunny

Here near Hunstanton, the radar has been showing light rain for over two hours now and not a drop has actually reached the ground. All evapourating on the way down. The garden is absolutely parched and needs this desperately.

January has been above-average so far here in Bratislava but not stupidly so. Slap-bang under the Euro slug, it's been bone-dry (1.4mm so far) with a fair bit of fog and ice (ice-day yesterday, only just above freezing today).
A really dire situation snow-wise though. The 00z ECM is teasing us with snowmaggedon on Sunday only for the 12z to give us a bit of sleet instead.
I was in Bratislava on the 18th December, sat outside in the main square in the sun at 13c

Bare soil near the screen, hedges not fences which will trap heat, in addition to which it's close to a huge glasshouse.
Actually, it's nowhere near the glasshouses. It's now on a much grassier site as well

First thunder/lightning here just after 4pm AND still going, that's six hours and torrential rain on and off. Lots of local flooding. Blimey - what a storm (supercell I think)

A few drops of rain for about 2 minutes, that's the first rain this month! Hopefully a good sign of what's to come

Thank-you, how was the snow in Dersingham this week?
(If I've remembered correctly that you live in Dersingham, oops!)
10cm at its height, couple of dodgy days getting out of the village. All gone now. A week is enough.

Apologies for that again, we had to take the forum offline for a bit to try to put some fixes in place. Fingers crossed this solves the issue.
