  1. Snowing heavily in Belfast now
  2. Drizzly rain/sleet here in Belfast now
  3. Oh yeh I remember you from a few years ago - you live a few streets away from me ... Hoping for lots more when I get home at 7.30
  4. Whattt?? I'm in North Belfast - Literally 10mins from East ... I live in East though - up Castlereagh Hills so yayyy here's hoping!
  5. It didn't last too long and didn't lie - ... Hope it's a sign of things to come though
  6. Haven't won my bet yet, Pomeroy. Have by close of play today (5ish) for some snow to actually lie. We agreed that it has to lie. I'm not so confident now with ground being wet, just hoping it snows heavy enough to lie on ground for a bit.
  7. Yeh definitely! I live in Castlereagh/East and would travel in but I stayed at a friends in North Belfast last night and it was sleety this morning .. Hoping I get home to some lovely snow and have trouble getting up my street lol
  8. What part of Belfast are you in? We got a really light sleety/snow shower last maybe 10mins in North Belfast (Yorkgate area)
  9. I have a bet with a colleague (he buys lunch if he's wrong, I buy if I'm wrong) that we will have lying snow at work tomorrow afternoon (in Belfast) lol .. I was confident yesterday but now I'm not so sure ... boy I hate being wrong too ... may just take it as it comes and be prepared to fork out for his lunch on Thurs lol
  10. Hoping Belfast gets a good covering. I live on the Castlereagh hills facing the city - facing West...I'm hoping this means i'll get a good enough covering up my way. In work on Wednesday but could be interesting getting home up my hill ... here's hoping .. have missed the drama .. love watching everyone go into hysterics about it .. people in the office - ''oooo I'll not make it home it's so bad .. etc. ..etc..'' .. I love it .. take it as it comes, nothing we can change about it so enjoy it while it lasts. Haven't seen much snow this year so hoping for something good. I'm by no means educated on how to read models etc, so I really appreciate you guys who can read the models and give people like me an insight in lamens terms.. Best of luck everyone for this snow event!! Hope you all get a bit of a covering ... especially those that have seen no/minimal snow this year..
  11. I'd love some decent snow :/ not much happening here in Belfast - snow shower around 5ish. That was it. Would be nice to get something over weekend or next week
  12. Quiet here on the eastern front lol, albeit bitterly cold. Love seeing the snow pics. Jealous but least somewhere is enjoying it. Hopefully something over this way at some point. Would love some heavy snow.
  13. Snowing heavy here in east belfast ... lying on wet cars and grass....that'll prob be the height of it
  14. This wind is getting worse here in Belfast ... Ok we'll it sounds like it is ... More sustained ferocious winds ... Bit frightening atm tbh ..
  15. Strong winds here in Castlereagh Hills .... I'm tired and a bit drunk but I don't wanna sleep yet cos the winds are fierce and my rooms in the attic so it's extremely noisy ... Wondering what I'll wake up to in the morning ... Me and the OH came back from Ballymoney about and hour and half ago .... Bit windy then but no real damage ... I'd imagine ill wake up to branches and trees everywhere tomorrow
  16. Winds have picked up a wee bit in Belfast. In saying that, im only awake about a half hour lol but in the last 10 mins they've been the worse since I woke up
  17. Anything for Belfast that will cause the big horrible traffic nightmare like yesterday? eek..
  18. Just seen an update on Northern Ireland Weathers Facebook page about concern for some severe thunderstorms, with some outlets issuing tornado warnings. They didn't say where abouts. I'm assuming it's down south Ireland coming in off the Atlantic. Anyone shed any light?
  19. Couple of rumbles here - a really big one there a wee minute ago. Hope this is the start of a nice big thunderstorm
  20. I'm in Belfast too, just inner North area - nothing either I seemed to have dodged all these thunderstorms - haven't seen any lightening or heard any thunder this whole time
  21. I haven't had any good storms yet here in Belfast. Might take a drive up to Antrim and Ballymena direction later to see family Any chance of any big storms heading that way? I really wanna see something.
  22. Absolutely amazing pics SnowJon ... that's something I would love to do someday ... Is it dangerous? How was the trek to the top? I've trekked to the summit of Slieve Donard before, but only in the summertime - NOT in the snow .... I see what you mean about the snow and the wall .. crazy amounts! ... How was it going down? Slippy? Dangerous? I'd be a bit nervous trekking it up in those snowy conditions ... I seen a bit in the news about avalanches in some areas of the Mournes .. was this a worry for you at all? Thanks again for the pics - great of you to share - they really show how wonderful this snow event was!
  23. Getting heavier here although the flakes are falling more slowly but there is more of them. Where abouts are you big lad? I can't see the info bit at side on your profile cos I'm on my phone. I'm up Castlereagh.
