  1. Another hot day here, max temp of 27.2C. Less humid than earlier in the week, but the house is starting to get uncomfortably warm by the end of each day with these consistently high temperatures and unbroken sun.
  2. Saturday and Sunday: Outlook for Friday to Sunday: Mostly settled with prolonged warm sunshine through the rest of this week, though maybe the odd shower. Turning more humid with a chance of thunderstorms on Saturday and Sunday.
  3. Yes, true, and no steady build up to the hot days nowadays. Saturday just gone being a prime example. That's certainly good going for your location, although aided by wind direction no doubt.
  4. Got up to 28.6C here earlier this afternoon. We seem to reach these sorts of temperatures with ease nowadays.
  5. I think I've used up all my storm luck for the next five years lol! However, I thought the same early in the summer of 2020, but that turned out to be a really good summer for storms here, in terms of the duration and intensity of storms we had later that summer. Hopefully this summer also provides plenty more opportunities.
  6. Yes, a little less uncomfortable with lower humidity today, but still feels very warm/hot out, which will remain the case for the foreseeable. Hopefully we don't have to wait long until the next thundery incursion. Maybe a sniff at the weekend, but not sure it will make it this far North. Hope we don't end up with days on end of temps into the high 20s Celcius with no thundery reward. I'd sooner have the temperatures we had prior to this hot spell. Much more comfortable.
  7. The calm after the storm this morning. A bright morning and looking like being another hot day. Back to days and days of dry weather again now by the looks of it. We had nearly 40mm of rain between Saturday and Monday.
  8. It was certainly an epic storm here earlier this evening. Thunder rumbling on and off for a good three hours and delivered plenty of decent lightning strikes and ground shaking thunder when the core of the storm moved through. It really has been a decent few days for storms here with two very good events in three days.
  9. Wind has really got up here and after about two hours of growling thunder on and off, now flashes of lightning finally visible to SE.
  10. It's been growling regularly for the past hour or so here to the S and SE. Think things are developing overhead as well I think. Sky getting darker and darker.
  11. Rumble of thunder. Lift off! Not surprised, sky is looking primed. Developing overhead.
  12. Temp 27.6C, after reaching 28.2C a while ago. Sky is looking promising, cumulus clouds really starting to tower. We have potential at least.
  13. 27.6C, some small amounts of towering cumulus in the far distance to the SE, E and N. Otherwise, just hot, hot, hot here. Sweltering out.
  14. It's just hit 27C here, so already past the max temp the metoffice predicted and given there is still largely sunny skies, albeit hazy, we are likely to exceed by some way.
