  1. A few flashes of lightning and almost continuous growling thunder. Not a direct hit, but better than nothing.
  2. 30.6C now. Temperatures definitely up a degree or two on those forecast. Can only be a good thing for convective potential I assume.
  3. Wow, sun came out again and the temperature has rocketed up again, 30.2C now.
  4. Interesting metoffice forecast for tonight, suggests possibility of more thundery showers arriving in the early hours: This Evening and Tonight: Any afternoon showers fading to leave a dry evening some warm sunshine. Some showers returning through the early hours of the morning, which may be heavy and thundery. A much warmer and more humid night than recently too. Minimum temperature 15 °C.
  5. Temp got up to 29.8C here, but now back down to 29C as a result of clouds which are increasingly bubbling up. It really does feel ripe for a storm.
  6. Maybe we will squeak 30C, temp on the rise still, 29.7C. More and more storms breaking out further South, they should drift in our direction and hopefully they'll be other developments too.
  7. 29.4C here, not sure if we'll make it to 30C, but plenty hot enough. Storms breaking out further South in the SW Midlands and parts of Southern England. Sky looking increasingly unstable here.
  8. Just hit 29C here, scorching out. A bit breezy at times, but it's a warm wind.
  9. 28.2C now, at least 2 hours of further heating to go still, provided it doesn't cloud over. Mostly sunny skies right now, altocumulus clouds drifting over occasionally, but nothing major yet.
  10. You're in the centre of the bullseye on the convective weather forecast.
  11. Temp 25.1C now, some banks of altocumulus have suddenly appeared in the sky as well.
  12. Temperature 23.1C here and starting to rise quite quickly now. Sunny skies with just the odd wisp of cloud at the moment.
  13. Nah, you know how these things go. Looks nailed on so it will be probably be a dud in this region whilst you get clobbered in tornado alley lol!
  14. Yeah, they're suggesting possible clustering of storms from N Wales through to NW England later this afternoon, sounds like it could possibly be quite organised. Some places are going to get clobbered. A very interesting day coming up.
  15. Wall to wall sunshine here, albeit slightly hazy, temp 16.5C and temp on the rise steadily. The convective weather website has upgraded the storm risk to moderate/high for large parts of the region.
  16. Dewpoints will increase during today, should be well into double figures later this afternoon. The higher they are, the more moisture there is in the air, so indicative of one of the ingredients needed for storms. Only one of the factors of course.
  17. It's a largely clear start to the day here, one or two bits of ACCAS in the sky, as mentioned above. One thing is certainly guaranteed, it will be a roasting hot day. Fingers crossed some thunderstorms are triggered later, we certainly seem to be in the corridor of interest today.
  18. Maxed out at 24.2C here today and certainly felt very warm out. We're likely to get very close to 30C tomorrow, but will depend on how much cloud cover bubbles up in the afternoon. I'm not planning any energetic outdoor activities tomorrow, that's for sure
  19. Warmest day of the year here, current temperature 23.9C, with wall to wall sunshine all day. Not a record that will last for long though, once the blow torch arrives tomorrow.
  20. The metoffice automated output has been steadily increasing the forecast temperature for tomorrow over the past few days. It's now saying 30C for here. I often find that the automated output undercooks the max temps in summer a little, so perhaps getting into the low 30s Celcius? Either way, it's going to be a steaming hot day tomorrow. Thunderstorm symbols showing for between 15:00 and 17:00 tomorrow as well.
