I know it was silly of me to close the window but the rain was really coming in. Towards the end of the video I opened it a crack so the sound came back.
Thanks for the explanation Sparticle, I will read it later when I have a bit more time.
Had downpours and sunshine this morning, some cool looking clouds too.
I will officially be leaving the club after yesterday. I sort of left last month when we had a mini storm, but didn't really feel it was enough to leave properly.
Longest - August of 1997. Was an MCS that kicked off at about 6pm and kept going strongly all night and then died at around 7am the next morning. Fantastic light show, it was too loud to sleep and we all stayed up all night watching it. Several houses nearby were hit.
Shortest - A tie between Beijing (July 2006) and Thailand (November 1999). Both extremely potent yet short storms lasting around 2 minutes with torrential rain constant flashes and thunder and disappeared as quickly as it appeared.
I swear we still had the odd rumble into late last night and we definitely saw a flash just around midnight in the distance. Nothing was showing on radar though.
I will try and get my close strikes uploaded today if i can work out how to get it in the right format. Haven't heard thunder that loud in England for at least a decade.
Well El Gordo, you certainly were a tricky beast.
You took us on a rollercoaster ride of esxcitement and anticipation, then we were on the edge of our seats, then crushing disappointment and then fnally surprise elation.
