  1. 6mm of rain yesterday, a further 12.8mm today, some of it was quite heavy last night. It has been dry since the early morning though, windy. Temp: 7.9°C - Hum: 80% - Dew: 4.7°C - Bar: 986.05hPa - Wind: SW @ 18mph, gusting to 32mph.
  2. I'm hoping to get lucky, even if it is just a rumble of thunder. I have found over recent years, that Winter has provided me with a lot of showers with thunder mixed it - probably more than the Summers over the past 5 years (not including 2016) but this Winter hasn't seen much of that. However, we're at that time of year where the sun is getting a little bit stronger, with cold air lurking near by, so hopefully, a few more set ups like these occur.
  3. I just had to inform my neighbour that his shed is being blown apart now..
  4. I totally agree. I haven't beaten 50mph, but the consistency of 35mph + is far higher than during Doris.
  5. The new Davis aerocone rain bucket is doing its job. It's gusting well over 30mph with drizzle, and it is recording it ok. It would have struggled on the old bucket in these conditions.
  6. Mean max of 10°C here. The mean is 7.1°C, 1.4°C above the MetO derived average.
  7. Certainly windy now. Temp: 10.1°C - Hum: 90% - Dew: 8.5°C - Bar: 1003.79hPa - Wind: SSW @ 20mph, gusting to 40mph.
  8. An interesting day, tomorrow. I expect a mixture of everything within the heavier showers. A bit of wintriness over high ground, hail & thunder possible too. Cloud tops will be cold enough for ice formation:
  9. Windy today! Temp: 10.2°C - Hum: 85% - Dew: 7.8°C - Bar: 1012.12hPa - Wind: SW @ 21mph, gusting to 36mph.
  10. Fantastic today! I recorded 7.5 hours of sunshine. I re-felted the shed roof today, I also sealed it with bitumen - got covered in it. Temp maxed out at 10.8°C Temp: 6.4°C - Hum: 84% - Dew: 3.9°C - Bar: 1019.78hPa - Wind: WSW @ 1mph.
  11. Could do with a drop of rain here, not seen any for nearly 8 days straight. Although January saw above average rainfall, things are starting to dry up rapidly.
  12. Here was my timelapse from yesterday: https://www.warehamwx.co.uk/cumulus/timelapse.htm As you can see, despite the wind, it was quite a nice day.
  13. Well, that's the shed roof bodged until I get some felt tomorrow. Can't have a leaky man cave now, can we?
  14. Pretty much, bar 8 inches. I'm just gonna do a bodge job on it for now. I'll buy a couple of new rolls and re-do all of it, as it's last 7 years. each strip is almost 5m long, so I may be able to get three 5m rolls, or a 10m and a 5m roll - hopefully?!
  15. A squall line would be associated with a vigorous cold front. The bands of showers are just part of Doris' circulation - possibly a trough.
  16. I think they're just aligned bands of showers, Chris.
  17. Gonna have to somehow repair that, before any rain arrives.. It almost got me while I was outside lol
  18. hmm where did you see that to? I can only see 54mph http://www.ogimet.com/cgi-bin/gsynres?lang=en&ind=03862&ano=2017&mes=2&day=23&hora=14&min=0&ndays=30
  19. I was just out in the garden doing a bit of concreting, and whooosh! A whole section of felt just ripped off of the shed and almost clobbered me.
  20. 50mph just recorded on my station, new record. I'm going to celebrate with a pint of tea.
  21. Weeeeeeee! Just recorded a 50mph gust here. New record on this station.
  22. The strangest thing about Doris down here, is not having any rain, despite the strong wind and pressure falling to 995hPa. It has been a decent day so far, good spells of sunshine, and the temp up to 11.4°C
  23. Not a single drop of rain here, sunny spells from the word go. Very odd! Recorded 48mph this morning, with 23mph wind speed. Temp: 10.4°C - Hum: 71% - Dew: 5.4°C - Bar: 998.24hPa - Wind: WSW ~ WNW @ 17mph.
