    Well I must confess to having to bite my tongue & sit on my hands for a while but no longer! temp 0.8 and falling, 76% humidity, dewpoint -2.9 and falling & pretty snow symbols on my weatherstation console

    Interesting terminology although I'd rather be a coastal reality freak than a land-locked normal person! Anyway, no sign of snow in Winchester at this time...

    It's not clairvoyance - it's knowing that on the south coast our average/mean temperatures are warmer than those inland therefore what is a snow event for many is a rain event for us. No magic, no qualification from Hogwarts needed - just common sense!

    I've got a similar forecast here in Fareham lettice, starting late Tuesday night. However, after the crushing disappointment of this weekend I am going to take it with a bucket of salt and just see what happens

    Me too Supercell. The episode seemed to be more about the effects on people than purely chasing the tornadoes although there were some stunning images of the beasts. I've got it on series record and am looking forward to the next episode - it's a shame that there won't be another series (if rumours are true). Guess I just need to conquer my fear of flying and go on a chase myself! :unsure:

    Got very heavy rain here now. Pressure has dropped to 1015.1, temp has increased to 2.4c (& is gradually climbing), 2.2mm of rain in past hour but that's on the increase too, dewpoint is 1.2c. Console still showing snow symbols but it's too warm here now for snow I think

    You might be right - I had the damn thing on sea level pressure instead of local! Local is 1016.3 - does that sound better?? Edit: when I went out for a smoke I tested the ground where the sleet has fallen on the front path - it feels decidedly icy! Could be fun on local roads tomorrow if it freezes over!

    We had rain, then wet snow which isn't sticking around due to the already wet ground. Temp now down to 1.5c, windchill -0.4, pressure 1069.9 and dew point 0.0c. All in all a wet non-event

    Great - miserable flippin rain here and my mother has just texted me from Cambridgeshire asking if I have snow coz she does! Talk about rubbing it in!! Latest temp 1.8c, dewpoint -0.4 & snowflakes falling on my weather station (even that's taking the mickey!)

    Can now confirm rain where I am in Fareham, not snow as yet but I'm hoping this will change! Temp dropping fairly quickly, now 2.4c & dewpoint -0.3.

    I'm in Fareham but there isn't "lots of rain"... There's very very light precipitation of some description but there isn't lots of it... Temp dropping now, 2.8c, dewpoint -0.4

    Nah, growing up is optional so don't lol Not much happening down here, temp is slowly dropping, now 3.5c (windchill 2.2), humidity 67%, pressure 1077.6 (and dropping), dewpoint -2.0 & sky is that bright greyish-white colour

    Funnily enough I've just come to this thread for a similar reason. A year ago I bought myself a lovely TFA Nexus weather station (thankyou student loan lol) and I paid a satellite/aerial bloke to mount the anemometer on the side of the house which he did. So it's well clear of the roof on a sturdy pole & bracket at the recommended height/position to get proper readings. Great, I thought, I'll get proper readings that wont be affected by gardens/houses etc and all was well for a while... But then I had to do a reset on my weatherstation console! To do it properly I should have had the anemometer to hand, held it positioned to the north and then done a reset so that the wind direction could be set appropriately but that wasn't possible at the time. That means that for the past few months the recorded wind direction is false and therefore of no use! So, similar to what Snax said above I am debating my options. Should I just leave it up where it is (in the so-called proper/ideal location) or get it down so that I can get to it and mount it on a long pole fixed at ground level? If I do the latter speeds etc will be moderately affected by surrounding houses/trees Advice also appreciated please

    I must confess I'm finding it hard to believe we'll have any snow today/tonight. Just spent an hour breaking up & removing ice from the bird bath & my 2 ponds (it was an inch thick in places) and it's a gorgeous day out there. Blue skies with some whiteness creeping into them, sunshine, crisp air - my 2nd favourite kind of day after thunderstorm days! Anyways, here's my current weatherstation info: Temp 3.9c, Humidity 67%, Dewpoint -1.6c

    Yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Righto, last update from me then bed! Temp -3.9c (wind chill -6.1), 73% humidity, -8.0 dewpoint oh and to top it off I have 2 frogs mating underneath the ice in the pond! One way to keep warm I guess lol!

    Darn it - do I need to beg my hubby to get me a telescope with a remote control and a capability to hook it up to the computer? Mind you, he's such a space cadet he probably wont need much begging hehehe Edit: btw, welcome to Netweather Tomhow
