  1. Same amazing storm here in LB as went through Aylesbury. ground strike about half a mile away, one of those that makes you jump away from the window..awesome!
  2. Just go south up those big hills you have near you. My mate's daughters were christened in a small church up there - brill view all over Brum.
  3. Yes, with the amazing storm avoidance that Leighton Buzzard managed last summer, I don't feel sorry for anyone! Just a shame i'm here in London when they are having some fun at home. My 4 year old son is the only family member there today - at Nursery. I expect a full account of what it was like when I get home
  4. Glad I got my session (running) out of the way in Regents park before the storm arrived - pretty decent when it did though. Looks from the radar that Leighton has copped a couple of biggies today - will ask my 4 year old what they were like!! Shame flooding on the Euston line!
  5. Bedfordshire innit! Hopefully this year won't be as pathetic for weather as last year. Not one thunderstorm nor one flake of snow! As usual the interesting stuff will cling to the Chiltern hills, like it normally does.
  6. Very Threatening and dark to my west (In Camden). The heavier shower clouds always seem to take this path through NW London towards Herts/Essex - always seems to be darker over there!
  7. Yeah - just goes on and on doesn't it! I think I can't be bothered moaning about it anymore! Last nights rain really upped the ante in the River Ousel in LB, it was absolutely raging this morning and sadly the Enviro agency has placed a flood warning on it now.
  8. lightning back home in Leighton Buzzard - could be some here in London too soon by the looks!
  9. Nice Calm weather, even though it is a bit dull. No wind, thats the main thing - HATE wet, mild, windy rubbish with a passion!! I'd take this all winter, with say, three good dumps of snow to break up the montomy? that would be OK
  10. Had the hail and wind here in Camden - so how didn't I hear the thunder though - I hope no one's telling porkies!!
  11. I need all I can get after the pathetic summer I had !
  12. Boom! Was just about to say 'Are you sure about thunder and lightning in Central London??' and off it went!!! I look westwards, reckon that was NW london somewhere... Edit - Currently at work, St Pancras area..
  13. As per usual - took one look at the Bedfordshire area and flaked out! Looking at that lot in the Irsh sea - could Dublin be in line for another pounding like a couple of years ago...100 mm wasn't it or something like that? Made the Bournemouth flood (my home town's one) look puny!
  14. Thats all we got last year where I am - smack bang in the middle of it all (you would think...) It all went to the the west first, then the east, then lastly to the south!
  15. Training in Luton tonight. Was gambling on staying dry - not liking how far east this bloody rain is going!
  16. No this is Leighton Buzzard. You don't get storms, regardless of whether you are home or away
  17. Yeah we had a heavy shower -a rare treat for us!! Although I did get soaked...and no thunder!
  18. Just typical for around here - miss all the decent thunderstorms a few weeks ago and then when I'm trying to work in the garden - we get one of the heaviest showers in the country and I get soaked. Nothing thundery tho, shame as they look quite threatening. We always get annoying rain
  19. Nice bit of Mamma or mammatus cloud? over central london. No pics unfortunately.. Think thats right, like balls of cotton wool stuck together..
  20. My own personal storm shield still going...got to work in Camden, missed some lightning as I was in the shower. STILL nothing seen this summer!!!
  21. About the same mate - but considering where I am and the amount of storms in the area, it's incredible really that LB has missed out - all other towns around us have had one. Yesterday was a classic - stream of storms firing towards the north -(MK, Bedford) - then to the south (Luton, Stevenage)..has to be the topography I presume. Funnily enough, three years ago there was a very stormy day nationally, and the first thundery shower of the day in the UK started between us and Aylesbury and hit us.
  22. I won't moan about not even having a heavy shower in the last week - bit too much like tempting fate LOL.
  23. Join the club...either in a line towards MK or then towards Luton. I just presume that Aylesbury Vale just isn't great for t-storm development? Astounding storm avoidance this last week!
