  1. Interesting output from all models this morning. However I will keep my feet firmly on the ground until Exeter. Change the update and looking at yesterdays and the update from day before it is not very encouraging for cold lovers. Very good looking GFS UKMO and ECM this morning. Some where in the UK will have some memorable snow come next week looking at these charts. ️
  2. As much as i would like to see the ecm come off i am not sure and mets extended outlook doesn't look too good for cold and snow for the north it mightbe a different story. gon is the disruptive snow from their 6-15 and 15- 30days outlook although they do say low confidence in that time.
  3. a good looking ECM this morning. However the GFS and UKMO doesn’t look too good. Not only that looking at the extended Met office update yesterday they do talk of mild conditions moving in so in a sense GFS and UKMO looking like what the Met office extended is talking about.
  4. Not a bad looking ECM in my eyes I would say it is very similar to UKMO ECM 46 would be very interesting tonight
  5. For March temp wise I'm going for 7.3C and 85MM rain. I think it will be a warm and wet March. If the cold comes I will be over he moon for i do love extreme weather mainly cold and snow. I some how can't see it happening.
  6. Looking at the GFS06 hours runs looks like the beast from the east is slightly ill and trying to go and see a doctor down south east
  7. Can’t see any cold for February maybe end will hold some interest so for February, I am going with 8.2C and 52 mm precipitation.
  8. A very optimistic post. I would love to think this would be the case even the Met office. Don’t think we will be affected by an SSW. In fact they are going for temperatures average to slightly above for February in their extended outlook. By no means I am calling winter over because it’s not we have quite a bit of time to go but it’s not looking very good.
  9. With the Met office issuing ice warnings for our region are we expecting more snow today guys?
  10. It’s not surprising to see this outcome, it goes along with thoughts from Exeter in their extended update and today’s ECMWF shows that flat solution let’s hope it’s not a new trend
  11. Well, another coating of snow here this morning, second day in a row. I have this feeling not scientific, but I think something memorable could be on its way. anyway, I will upload some images of this mornings coating in front of my house. It’s not much but like I said yesterday it’s snow and beggars can’t be choosers in this day and age.
  12. On this day, 18 January 2013, was a very snowy day 10 years ago and today we have snow on the ground, not on the level of January 18, 2013 still its snow and we should take what we can get in this day and age beggars can’t be choosers
  13. What a excellent morning to wake up to a dusty of snow everywhere. LOL surprise
  14. Just before we get down to the 1to hours runs, here is the Mets week ahead, video coldd frosty and snow for Some.
  15. Interesting you mention the SSW, but if I’ve read Blue on Waze post regarding a split SSW that could do more harm than good not only that, but if you read the Met office 1630 day update it doesn’t look too encouraging for February by no means I am saying winter is over hell no way march 2013 was excellent for cold and snow.
  16. PM stand for polar maritime shots hope that helps models look quite good this morning especially UKMO and ECMWF
  17. I think it would even be shorter time, especially with the way the gfs is performing at the moment, very poor at short lead times so I think safe, but with the GFS would be 96, 120h I really do hope NOAA. Really take a look at their model again and iron out what ever the issue is.
  18. Of course, James madden wouldn’t take a punt, because if all is winter forecast were accurate, then every season, we would have Siberian style winter
  19. I hope you’re right and we do get an SSW at the moment the charts are horrifying for cold and snow. Personally I think the writing is on the wall for winter 2223, not even mets extended forecast going for cold they have returning to mild conditions by the end of month. As for the background, telly connection signal, I don’t think it makes much different for our little island on the doorstep of the Atlantic
  20. An excellent post. If I may say all these telly connections doesn’t mean Jack in our island when we have the Atlantic on our doorstep.
  21. Well folks another day of uninspiring set of output lets hope ECMWF mean is on the money and get shot of those euro heights and give us what we want. May i wish all membors and staf at netweather a verry happy and peeceful newyear and all those of you have had difficulty thru out this year may 2023 is a easy1 for all of you. Keep up the good work folks and enjoy the weather what ever it may bring.
  22. Well most of us, this set up is crap Scotland will do well in any given winter in a north westerly flow so in my opinion at the moment what we have in the model output is absolute crap just my opinion
  23. A fantastic post and totally agree 100%. At the moment all models look pretty grim for UK snow and cold even the Met office updates, not looking good for southern UK as I said, before North always will do better than most or all sudden parts
  24. For January I am going for quite a mild month and dry also temperature 6.5C precipitation, 45 mm.
