  1. 18z seems to hold back the milder enroachment once again. Signs of the cold air and block playing its hand now as we draw closer. The system on Friday moves up much later and does still push N/NE but with snow away from South Coast freezing rain showing up again by the front in some areas. Interesting model watching continues. First push from South is very small affair with patchy snow coming inland. The main front pushes SW/Ireland & Wales. The following is Friday daytime into evening.
  2. Another dusting, started snowing just before 6pm lightly then got moderately heavier for a few minutes left a covering. Powdery snow. Skies have cleared now and -2.2c. Dewpoint -7.5c
  3. Lighter snow flurry this time, right on the edge of the shower this time around. Central Oxford looked dark, perhaps heavier here.
  4. System from SW does move NE on Friday afternoon/evening. Snow totals go up quite quickly especially into Midlands/Central Southern England and parts of SW. Freezing rain potential showing in M4 southwards though again. GFS 12Z.
  5. ICON not as far north with the system again. Starting to see models not get as far North. Block in place/Cold air in place playing its part>?
  6. Still showing on my met office app? Edit.. My Mistake i thought you had put Thursday Fromey. My bad..
  7. Really cloudy here now. Plenty of darker clouds E/NE of here. Hoping we can get a flurry or brief snow shower before the afternoon is out!
  8. Few flakes this morning at 8:30am. Sunny since but clouds have been rolling in and cloud tops seem to be getting bigger. Cumulus increasing. Could be some flurries/showers even here later. Temp 2.6c. Dewpoint -7c. Wind 18mph ENE.
  9. The streamer affected more Berkshire and Hampshire. It was later that night into the 2nd thanks to a low moving through from Germany/France that gave us the 30cm remember that well! No school for days!
  10. Hi mate ?? . Yes thats what i was thinking. Just wondering people’s views on how unstable it would have to be for showere to get even to central districts and further west. Troughs would be wonderful! Hi Saint! Hoping you beat Chippenham today! Help Oxford City out.
  11. Hi everyone. Really hope everyone gets snow! Its been a while since a easterly really delivered to all you lot, hope you can share around big dumping of it! Out of interest does anyone think with the extreme low uppers and relatively warm sea we could see snow showers penetrate as far as Central Southern England. Into Oxon/Bucks/Berks? I’d be intrigued to hear views. In meantime strap yourselves in going to be a fun week!
  12. ^ That looks great! 18z GFS was another good one for frontal snow until it introduced milder uppers and turned to rain/sleet for parts, hopefully overly progressive. The control will do!
  13. 18z GFS moves the system further north again. But introducing less cold air ( slightly milder sector) to the East.
  14. If you are interested in what the GFS 18z would equate to in your backyard. http://www.xcweather.co.uk/forecast/ XC uses the GFS model for its text forecasts.
  15. Snow depths from the 18z as we end next week. Pure conjecture. but interesting and hardly a one of showing from the models from the last 24hrs or so.
