  1. On this run much of Northern France stays really cold uppers. 12z had the low pressure move up from Iberia and bring much less colder uppers (hardly mild! lol) This run it is very cold still. Inter run variance but still a common theme is the lp moving up from South details still to come. But encouraging for Southern areas and with the North under a unstable airflow. Win Win? 12Z- LEFT. 18Z RIGHT.
  2. Oh and 162hrs and 168hrs.. Gets even more unstable as pressure drops even more over UK.
  3. Obviously precip will be picked up much closer to the time for details etc.. But encouraging that models such as GFS/ECM are now picking up on the cold flow, for convectional purposes even though they don't always take this account. It certainly ain't forecasting to be dry thats for sure, Troughs around, showery airstream from East. Then fronts approaching from S/SW/E.
  4. 144Hrs. Looks lovely! Notice the isobars beginning to tighten across the UK (especially to the south). That system to the South closes in but edges further east in process than the previous 12z. Great heights to the NW and Greenland.
  5. Very light snow for last hour. Was even sleety to begin with. Slight covering on cars and roofs. Wet elsewhere. Temp 1.9c. Dewpoint -3.2c
  6. Few flakes as that cloud to the East scraped to the side of here. Sunshine again now but high level cloud returning. Pleasant out the wind and in the sunshine current temperature of 2.2. High of 3.3c.
  7. Imagine that is convection and where we have seen sunshine all morning a few towering cumulus around. Had a faintest of snow flurries here and now breaking up.
  8. Faintest of snowflakes falling here. Lovely picture of the sun out and light snow flurry.
  9. ECM monthly sounds promising! @fergieweather Brrrr. An overall cold Feb unfolds according to latest ECMWF 30d modelling, with risk of E'ly flow developing further into the month. An interesting forecasting period ahead, on many levels...
  10. 2.7c here currently. High of 4.6c early afternoon in which was pleasant sunshine.
  11. Nasty dark clouds approaching here from Buckinghamshire. Could we get a snow flurry? Eyes to the window.
  12. Absolutely. May get a few hours of very light snow, which in itself could leave a dusting or slight covering. Then its a case of looking behind as could be troughs/shower streams in the flow.
  13. It's got better in last hour Khodds! Chio and our own @Catacol with a fantastic explanation on whats evolving and what we could look forward to as a result sounds promising!
  14. Euro 4 18z still has the front still having some intensity before it fades as it heads further east.
  15. I have never exercised that option to put people on ignore, very tempting now you mention it! lol
  16. Have to agree. As someone who rarely posts in there and watches on the posts have got signifcantly worse my some. its a real shame as quality posters in there such as Steve Murr, Blue Army, Nick Sussex, Tamara etc... but if you haven't been on for a while you think 7 pages yipeee. scroll through and its arguments or trolling, feel sorry for the mods! It seems an endless task.
