  1. Yeah and people shouldn't be blaming the forecasters as they are only monitering what the weather is doing, they should be blaming the ridiculous constant unpredictable climate we have!
  2. And hopefully the storms will affect more areas this time and not just the southeast!
  3. Rubbish for any thundery weather as well in a lot of places. Even with us supposedly being the windiest country in Europe most places bearly get gusts above 40mph in the Autumn and Winter months. Not a good place to be if you want interesting weather.
  4. This is getting stupid now, the forecast a few hours ago had us in the potential zone for thundery rain and in the last hour or so a load of models have shifted the potential eastwards again. I wonder at this rate if we will get anything thundery here this year now, we have already since last August had no thunder at all.
  5. So tonights already written off for any potential thunder then?
  6. So our second chance of getting something has already been thrown in the dumps then? Starting to get a bit fed up of this year now. We have had absolutely nothing thundery so far since the start of the year. Big contrast from last year where we had already had quite a few days of thunder through Winter and Spring.
  7. Going by the latest BBC forecasts it looks like we actually have a much better chance now of getting some thundery weather for more parts of the UK through Saturday night through to Monday. The long range video forecast showed a band of widespread heavy and thundery rain moving northwards overnight Saturday, then once that clears we have Sunday and Monday having scattered heavy downpours with possible thunder. Just got to hope now that the thundery rain on Saturday night doesn't become less widespread or shift eastwards again or that the thundery showers on Sunday and Monday get downgraded.
  8. And also hope that its direction of movement doesn't change from moving Northwesterly to Northeasterly again as we get nearer to the night.
  9. Yes I have just seen this mentioned on the latest BBC weather forecast as well, so although tonight has been a bust for storms hopefully it maybe our turn in the west to get something on Saturday night.
  10. Pretty obvious nothing will get anywhere near here now so calling it a day. I am however hoping that we maybe the ones getting some thundery weather on Saturday night though as just seen the latest BBC weather forecast and it shows a pulse of storms coming up from France but moving in a more northwesterly direction which is what we need. We aren't getting anything tonight because the storms are moving northeasterly which is the wrong direction for us to get anything.
  11. I thought things are only suppose to kick off later on this evening for the south and southeast? I wonder if this is a sign that everyone will lose out on the thundery weather and be gutted like us lot here already are in the West.
  12. Another thing is that I also like windy weather and I had hoped that when my parents and i had to move here i thought that the lack of storms wouldn't matter as much as we would have more of the windy weather to make up for it. But even that isn't the case as even in the Autumn and Winter we don't get much different wind strengths then what the rest of England gets.
  13. We do have our lucky moments (last year of 2020, and especially August of that year for example!) But we always tend to just get weak atlantic dross most of the time when a thundery plume is to the east of us. I have to say though that i am quite upset about this today as we haven't had anything this year so far and over the weekend i thought we may have been in for a chance as it looked much more widespread then its looking now.
  14. I can't believe there are still some models throwing out westward shifts of these storms for tonight where some places even here in Wales may get something. Even just looking at the live radars now you can clearly see the direction storms in France are moving and its northeastwards, so therefore anything that heads our way is only going to be affecting southeast England by the time it reaches our shores. I'm gutted anyway as i know we are very unlikely to get anything now unlike what was shown a few days ago, but i hope a miracle may happen and we also get something tonight.
  15. Why does that model keep bringing up westward shifts! Its pretty obvious now that these storms overnight are going to be a southeast England affair.
  16. Rubbish miserable weather here as well. Has been cloudy all day with only a few very quick brighter spells, and now we have some drizzle around. I am also quite dissapointed with this so called thundery plume event as over the weekend it looked like quite a large area of the UK including us here in Wales was going to get thundery weather overnight tonight but it now looks like only southeast England is going to get anything.
  17. Thats a shame, because I personally prefer storms during the night as most people are just asleep and it feels like its just you viewing the storms plus you can see the lightning better. Day storms are just good for seeing the clouds pretty much.
  18. Hope not! Me here in Wales wants to make sure it stays showing as it is if not move further west.
  19. People in the model discussion going on about a SE/NW split next week but we already have a SE,NW split now. The last few days here even in just Wales have been overcast and cloudy and not like the more summery weather other areas seem to be getting.
  20. I actually prefer storms when they are in the distance as I find it more relaxing and not so worrying. We have had absolutely nothing here at Brongest in Wales so far this year.
  21. it is just potential though, and its not normal to have warm and dry sunny days in autumn unless luck just happens to be on your side. Its much more common to have dry or warm weather in spring and so the fact that this spring has been so poor means that the only real chance we have of settled nice weather is now in the summer .
  22. It was a good year here, and it looks like we had at least 6 to 7 days of thunder based on the map.
