  1. Well its been quite windy here so far with a top gust of 28mph and sunshine and cloud. I did see one distant flash last night towards the southwest but that was it. Currently now this afternoon I am keeping an eye on a load of dark clouds coming this way and I am not shure if I heard a rumble of thunder a few minutes ago.
  2. Its a shame you didn't see the storm to the southwest in the early hours of the 4th of October as that was producing a lightning flash every 10 seconds virtually. There has been nothing here today thunder wise, though I think there is a higher chance for something overnight.
  3. Isn't the most highest chance for something thundery suppose to be tonight?
  4. A few heavy showers came through earlier though with no thunder and the sun is now out with quite a lot of clear skies. The wind has picked up quite a bit this afternoon with a max gust of 26mph and many gusts between 18mph and 24mph.
  5. No thunder here yet, just had a few heavy showers. My main worry is that this thundery potential is being overplayed by some people.
  6. I have looked at most of the other weather forumns that are online and none of them seem to be as excited about this convective spell as our one. A lot of members on these forumns have had to recently restrict any meaningfull potential to coastal areas over the next few days, it seems to me that the problem is going to be getting any storms that do develop to move far enouph inland for most places to see anything.
  7. I know but what I am saying is that the charts are not always right. That distant storm we had a few weeks ago probably had a lightning strike every 5 seconds or so at one point, it just seems highly unlikely that we will get that again and in a much more widespread area!
  8. Not really bothered if I don't get anything more this year now as we have done pretty well and that lightning we had in the distance on the 4th of October was quite impressive. I highly doubt that it will be anything near as good as that was if something does happen over the next few days.
  9. I think we only had rain here last night. There seems to be higher chances of something happening over the weekend for here.
  10. I may have to keep an eye out for that tonight then as I am under the Orange area and with allready reports of thunder north of us we could be in for something later perhaps.
  11. No thunder or anything but it is raining really heavily at the moment.
  12. What a miserable day! Its been raining light to moderate since late this morning. Yesterday was much better than today, and I thought that the whole weekend was suppose to be poor.
  13. Quite a constant and strong wind tonight. Seems to be gusting to 30mph or more across many areas of the West Country.
  14. I find it unlikely that that there will be much of any convective activity from now on as we are quite a way into autumn now. And the chances of something like last week happening again are probably 5%.
  15. Thats actually the cables to our sky dish outside my bedroom window! I am really annoyed that I am not able to find a way to post a good high quality audio recording I did using my blue yeti microphone as you can here all of the rumbles on that. It beats the hell out of the rubbish audio on my camera!
  16. That must have been recorded on a very exposed area. Last time I checked it wasn't suppose to be like armageddon up in northan england, just typical gales with gusts around 50-60mph!
  17. A video of the storm on 4th of October during the night filmed looking to the southwest. NOTE: The sound quality is very poor! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LoJGFmmXWaQ Sorry it was posted so late.
  18. A video of the storm Early Friday during the night filmed looking to the southwest. NOTE: The sound quality is very poor! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LoJGFmmXWaQ&feature=youtu.be
  19. That was BRILLIANT last night between 00:30AM and 01:30AM! Best frequency of lightning since 2006 here. most of It was all in the distance to my southwest though but the amount of lightning made it almost look like you were watching a storm chasers video. There were loads of nice sounding rumbles as well which I recorded on my blu yeti microphone. I'm happy I recorded it with that now.
  20. I don't know about you lot but it was almost like looking at a distant nightime supercell in America here around 00:30AM to 01:30AM. I recorded it on my own microphone and video camera and the frequent thunder on my recording sounds like I have taken it off of a storm chasers video! We probably had the most heaviest rain I have ever seen when it came over, the sound of it coming down was horrendus and I thought we were going to get flooded.
  21. Just like this firework projector: We storm fans should insist that Uncle Milton make thunderstorm ones for us all in the UK!
