June has been very good here. Lack of storms but very very good for dry, warm/hot weather. I can't complain about June at all (apart from the lack of storms)
Lack of storms has been the main reason i haven't liked this summer so far either to be honest even though for sun and dryness its been pretty good.
Even the storm problem is just bad luck on our part because other places in the country have had a really good year so far and with tonnes of footage on this forum to prove it.

Few heavy showers breaking out, none of them producing sferics yet, maybe a bit more diurnal heating might help as we go through the peak of the afternoon....
The thundery showers we had here yesterday didn't happen until around 5:00PM or 6:00PM so there is still plenty of time.

Got down to -11.8℃ last night!!!!
The coldest temps I have ever witnessed was when we were living down in SouthWest England with a low of -12℃ or so back in the snowy and cold winter of 2010. Going by what we had last night we were only a few degrees off of having the coldest temperatures I have ever experienced.
We can't run the taps upstairs at the moment as water isn't sinking down the plug holes.

Just hit -10℃ here!!!!!!!

Well it did turn out colder than the other night with a low of -9.5℃ which now makes it the next coldest night of this spell so far.
It was frosty through the whole night and clear with starry skies. Now it's sunny but still very frosty.

Currently -7℃ or so at the moment so its another very cold one.
I wonder if we will get the coldest night of the year so far from this spell tonight. I would think we would given that the lowest a few nights ago was -7.9℃ and it is hovering around -7.5℃ to -7.6℃ out there currently with already a hard frost.

Wonder If it's finally our turn to get snow tonight and not just a repeat of dangerous icy roads and paths from sleet and freezing rain
-
Still not had any snow here this evening, just been the odd sleet shower here or there but there hasn't been any precipitation in the last few hours.
Hope the roads around here get gritted soon because the sleet from earlier hasn't melted and there are pockets of black ice in places as well which is not good. Heard a few cars earlier driving slow or struggling a bit to go up the road next to our house.
-
Been having on and off spits of rain last hour or so and in the last fifteen minutes there has been a brief couple of minutes of heavier falling of sleet.
Wonder if we will get higher snow chances later if the temperatures continue to drop, but regardless of anything i think some icy patches on the roads are a given around here now.

Just taken these appearing to our North and Northwest about fifteen to thirty minutes ago!
Not sure if it means we will get anything of note from it though other than sleet or freezing rain, and thats if it even makes it here.
Wouldn't be surprised if it has produced some thunder given the fact that there is clearly an anvil there on one of the clouds.
Oh and it got down to -7.9℃ here in the garden last night resulting in a widespread frost by morning which looked really good in the clear sunshine skies.

Currently -2.7℃ right now with still a widespread frost around which looks nice in the sunny and clear conditions.

It reached -6.3℃ in the garden here overnight Tuesday 6th into Wednesday 7th which produced quite a display of frost by the morning.
Wasn't as cold here last night and today though but looks like it was more southern parts of the UK that got the colder temperatures last night.

Had a bit more closer thunder here around when that very brief but intense squall came through.
One of the roads just below us in the village has a small area of flooding at the moment.
Highest rainfall rate my weather station picked up was around 9mm/hr but I don't think its very accurate if the rain is too short lived.

Thunder and lightning over eastern Pembrokeshire headed this way accompanied by heavy rain……. A decent squall line formed and could be interesting.
So we have fun wind and surprise thunder around here in Wales already then!
Doing pretty well then so far considering there is suppose to be the higher thunder risk tonight once the cold fronts gone through bringing thundery showers.
I have not had any thunder here yet though but we did last night for a bit. Mostly around us and in the distance.
Am going to go and listen out for anything now.

Had a gust of 32mph in the garden from the 6-7ft high weather station not long ago.
That means it must be gusting around at least 40mph now in better exposure.

Hope I didn't miss anything yesterday as it looks like there was actually thundery showers in Wales all day.
I didn't think there was going to be anything and because I rely on my parents to tell me if they hear anything as they are alway's outside I fear they may have missed some nearby distant storms as they will only hear stuff thats nearby because they are in a shed.
I only noticed some lightning this evening around the area for a few hours with one distant but powerful sounding rumble and then another half an hour or so later that was closer but I think less powerful as the thunder was softer sounding.
Another thing that I thought was unusual today though was the strange nature of the wind as you would have hours of there being just Light or Gentle breezes but then when a shower came through you could have a few minutes of Strong or even Near gale to Gale force gusts.

Didn't seem to be much wind here today like I thought there would be.
There was certainly the rain though and we had a period around midday where we had a rain rate of over 5mm/hr before the main rain band cleared away leaving sunshine and showers.

Got a max gust of 35.7mph from the southeasterly yesterday up one of our hills with a 32mph gust and quite a few of 31mph and 30mph.
Was expecting a bit more then this to be honest with most maps showing gusts in the 40's mph on many models for inland areas but I think it maybe because we are more sheltered from an Easterly or Southeasterly just like we are from Westerly's.
