  1. The worst part of it also is that this Atlantic based weather we are having doesn't seem to wan't to give the UK proper windy day's! I highly doubt the Atlantic is in an active phase currently though as some have said. As all I have seen currently is moderate rain with mere gentle breezes. And models yet again look dire for next week for any proper cold weather.
  2. Well Ian Ferguson on BBC Points West this evening didn't mention any risk of thunder for tomorrow and Friday at all! Not even hail!
  3. All I can say is that I will be utterly SHOCKED if we get a proper thunderstorm here tomorrow or the next few day's as we have failed to have a proper one for the last 4 years. And to be honest, my excitment is never as high now as it was last year when we had potential because it has alway's ended up being the same case of no storm after no storm after no storm. I guess it has something to do with your brain getting used to the typical 2010s routine for storms in the SOUTHWEST!
  4. Hopefull that we will get something actually worth while from this but I highly doubt it. If I was the Met Office I would seriously consider moving that warning to Northeast England, as every time we are forecasted storms thats where they alway's seem to occour instead!
  5. Sunshine and cloud. 10C and with a light to gentle southeasterly breeze.
  6. Mostly clear here after moderate rain moved in overnight. Current temperature of 9.3C and there are no winds.
  7. 14C here and no different from the last couple of day's with grey cloudy skies and light drizzle. The lowest I had last night by the way was only 14C!!!!
  8. Going by what you said on your topic I was expecting a rubbish forecast, but instead was given one which to me personally didn't seem much different to an actual BBC weather forecast. I think it is a very well presented forecast and I found it very easy to understand. Well done!
  9. One of the reasons I am also doubtfull about it is from an older topic I did earlier this month on the 2009 november 13th and 14th strong winds. Many members were saying that it wasn't that bad and that there have been windier day's since, well this year. And the highest wind I have ever recorded on actuall ground level since last year is just 34mph. Many people soon just skipped a good 20+ years ago back to the 1990 Burns day storm, and even then the highest gust was 98mph and this was not recorded in the Southwest.
  10. I know from when I was little that there have been windier day's then what we have had in the last few years but I am just wondering because these winds only currently seem to effect scotland, northwest Wales and Ireland on really high exsposed ground. Even with big storms in the past I can't believe that the reports of winds over 80mph were taken from more inland areas as I have seen videos from America in peoples backyards with these levels of winds and almost every tree at the end alway's seems to get uprooted, even with there own houses being destroyed. I have been around since 1995 and so far the worst damage I have seen here is one arial nocked over and an old small tree uprooted but thats about it! And going by the beoufourt scale trees get uprooted from winds of only 50mph! The 1987 storm was only really a more Eastern event that mostly effected London and looking at Southwest England on that day it only looks like a typical windy day. Does anyone know of any stations, such as yoevilton, recording winds over 70mph since this period.
  11. Mild but not warm with a temperature of 16C. Some breaks in the cloud now!
  12. Suprised no one else has bothered to come on here and at least give you advice as you are a new member. I don't personally no what the problem may be but perhaps you should look online about it and see if anyone else has had the problem!
  13. Well obviously yes it wouldn't be boring in terms of cold but I meant boring in the sense of what the models are currently showing for the next two weeks and beyond! I am also not writing off Winter, I am just doubtfull going by the current models whether we are going to get an early start to it like we did last Winter.
  14. Ideally then we would wan't to see the Euro block be moved further away as quick as possible so that the remaining weeks of Atlantic weather will be at it's end by at least mid to end of November. Hopefully future runs will show the block either dissapating or being shunted away.
  15. Looks like parts of the US are getting there first load of proper snow now!
  16. Interesting times ahead I think. You mean boring times ahead!!!
  17. Not only thirty day's of no cold weather, but also thirty day's of boring nothingness weather. If the Euro high doesn't shift then even if deep depressions cross the UK it won't bring much noticable fun windy weather!
  18. Miserable here with grey skies and drizzle. Temperature is at a mild 14C and the winds are light.
  19. Yep! Used gravatar instead and it works now. Thanks weather ship!
  20. Some of you guys in here don't realise how lucky you are! The only storms I have had this year consisted of just a few rumbles of thunder.
  21. Been horrible all day today! Max temp was only 12C!
  22. It's only raining lightly here now and has made the ground wet and damp. An extremely isolated event by the looks of it! We certainly havn't had 50mm of rain here!
  23. I have clicked remove photo and it goes, but when I upload another photo it just comes back up with the original photo and avatar. I wan't the avatar and the profile picture to be changed to the new picture I wan't to upload but at the moment it doesn't appear to wan't to! Are there any reasons for this or am I doing something wrong?
  24. Sorry about that. I was a bit rushed because I had to go to bed quickly.
