  1. I would be quite suprised if the whole of the Winter turns out to be average. It is early day's yet guys anyway to be worrying too much!
  2. It is only drizzling here right now but I assume that much worse is to come going by those rainfall radars.
  3. Raining heavily here currently! Was nice with sunshine and cloud just 2 hours ago!
  4. Nothing happening here but last night before I wen't to bed I saw some distant flashes both from the southeast and southwest of here.
  5. Sunshine and cloud here and with a mostly light southwesterly wind. We have had some light showers in the mourning but they have gone now.
  6. Most of the lightning activity now appears to be across Eastern England. There appears to be two portions of lightning activity, one area across southeast England and another across east Anglia and Northeast England.
  7. Looks like the main three troughs have passed us now so doubt there will be anything happening inland for Southwest England.
  8. This is from the BBCs monthly forecast! Published at 11:00, 23 October Next update at 11:00, 30 October Summary Back to normal come November Balmy southeasterly winds will give way to west or southwesterly winds; the winds of change bringing more showery conditions to western areas in the weeks ahead. Sunday 23 October 2011 to Sunday 30 October 2011 Autumn leaves will be blowing Low pressure will remain to the west of the United Kingdom for the week ahead, bringing unsettled conditions with rain or showers on most days. A slow-moving weather front will bring heavy rain and strong winds to western areas to start the week. Eastern parts meanwhile will have another very mild but breezy day on Monday. A band of rain will push eastwards overnight on Monday with some gusty winds. Rain will then fall across much of northern and eastern England along with most of Scotland. Showers will follow to the southwest of both England and Wales. Wednesday will be a day of sunshine and showers, with the showers most frequent and heavy towards Wales and the southwest. Pressure will then build across the country towards the end of the week with showers generally fading away. The winds will fall light so any overnight clear spells will allow a touch of frost in rural areas, along with some mist and fog patches. Monday 31 October 2011 to Sunday 6 November 2011 Any fireworks for the first week of November? Low pressure will remain to the northwest of the United Kingdom bringing a west to southwesterly wind. Showers or longer spells of rain will affect all areas at times, with rather windy conditions, particularly in the west. Temperatures are likely to be close to average for the week. Sunday 6 November 2011 to Sunday 27 November 2011 Any sign of a change? The weather is likely to remain typically changeable for much of November, with bands of rain moving across the UK from the west. There will also be some drier and brighter interludes in between the rain bands. The winds are expected to be mostly from the south or west, which means temperatures should be around or slightly above normal for much of the period. However, occasional north-westerly winds may bring somewhat colder air in at times. Rainfall amounts for the whole of the UK across the period are likely to be near normal and sunshine amounts are likely be either near or below normal. Night frosts are expected at times, especially across the north of the UK and in sheltered rural areas where winds fall light. Going by this forecast an unsettled spell of weather to come for quite some time with only bits of cooler air when northwesterly winds blow. It isn't looking to good for Bonfire night iether.
  9. Expect heavy rain mate. We have just had what you are about to get as we are to the southwest of you.
  10. Sunny this mourning but cloud built up and since then some heavy showers moved in with one particular noticable downpour. I am sure that I heard one distant rumble of thunder as well. Had a maximum temperature of 15.9C and the winds have been very light.
  11. It looks quite likely to me that there will be nightime lightning tonight for at least coastal areas. This evening I may look out for distant heat lightning flashes to the South.
  12. Has there been any thunder from that cloud?
  13. We have just had a very heavy downpour here and I am certain that I heard one distant short lived rumble of thunder to the West before we had this. Since then it has been raining moderately and it is very dark.
  14. You don't need to worry because there's nothing out there to chase anyway. It would be a waste of you're time unless you were planning on storm chasing down the Dorset coast.
  15. Nothing showing up on StrikeStar apart from one old stray strike in southeast england!
  16. Starting to allready lose hope now. It is just raining lightly at the moment.
  17. Yes it is the lack of any hints this year which is making us worried about this Winter. All we can really hope for currently is for there to be signs emerging again for colder weather no later then mid November.
  18. Those strikes look very scattered to me. Seems certain however that we will get heavy showers later as the showers move northwards.
  19. Probably because a lot of people are currently dissapointed at the poor outlook for cold weather. Even if it did verify it would only be a Scotland and Northern Ireland event as usual.
  20. Could you please confirm whether or not this is true and actually happening? How come the radars aren't showing anything?
  21. As I predicted earlier the worst we have had so far here is just on and off light showers. Still, looks quite dark to the south.
  22. It's hard to tell but I would say that it is Altocumulus lenticularis. It is quite flat and isn't lumpy.
  23. There is a whole stream of dark altocumulus blocking out the sun so my chance is even more slim now. Hopefully it will clear away later.
  24. I'm not getting excited because I am in south Wiltshire which is quite a long way from any coast. So therefore unless I travel over 30 miles it is unlikely that I will see any lightning.
  25. ECM looks like the lows will be a bit too far away to give the UK much in the way of widespread windy weather so that looks like being confined to the west and north west as well. This has been the case for nearly two years now. We never seem to get the proper stormy weather we used to get.
