Morning everyone. Sleep well?  Not looking very nice out there. Seems as if weather forecasts are a bit like a political party. Promise much but deliver little. Let us hope things come good eventually.

Haven’t ventured into the mod thread. I expect they haven’t noticed it’s not snowing as they are too busy getting excited about something that won’t happen in 7 - 10 days time.

    Time for breakfast.

    Just checked the MOD thread...

"Epic, wonderful, historic. Makes this cold spell look like a wet fart"

    Describing a chart at +372!

    Well, well, well.

Last night I was called a troll, a doom-monger, overly negative etc, because I suggested this might not be that great after all...I was simply saying what I could see.

I hate that I was right...honestly. My kids are going to be gutted...

The same here. I'm not so angry about missing out. It's more about the dung I got last night for suggesting this might not happen!

Lmfao what a let down so far.

All the PPN seems to magically vanish about 15 miles North of my location on the radar, but looking at dew points mothing would be settling in any case.

Guess it will be a day of radar watching but im not hopefull.

If we miss out AGAIN from this I think i'll hang my hat up as a snow lover and just become a sun worshiper instead.

Same here, if this goes bust then bring on the Spring. Won't be following this thread up the garden path again.

  4. I will carry on this argument because I never said the MO was right. I said I was "following the MOs updates" which were showing this as a bust until during Monday day time.

If I had just watched the radar without following the MO I would have been staring at the radar all night wondering why nothing was happening! What a waste of time that would have been.

So again, no, watching the radar was the incorrect advice.

Glad you are in agreement, the radar did show at that time that the snow was heading across the north sea and it was all on track.

It went wrong after but nothing has been hurt other than your expectations.

Dry your eyes and calm down, last minute changes are nothing new and no-one has died.

Lets see what happens over the next hours/days.

And again, why are you changing what was said? Was ridiculed last night for following the MOs updates and watching the MO app update for the worst. I was told just watch the radar....

Didn't need to do that obviously, because the MO was right. So no, we're not in agreement at all.

Edit. Sorry Kold, don't know how your quoted text got in there.

Chill out, the weather will do what it pleases and no-one can change it.

Despite your annoyance, the folks who said to trust the radar were absolutely bang on correct - if it shows nothing then that's what you will get.

No no no, you don't get to change what was said. I will quite happily go and pull out some quotes if you want. But, I was told not 5 hours ago that "everything was still on track", "just watch the radar as it still shows the snow heading our way".

And there was a lot of sarky comments about impatience and a lot of high 5ing each other about how awesome they were at this weather thing.

Well what do you know, it turns out that the "useless" MO app knew more about the weather than they did!

It’s a small ask and to be honest ridiculous that some people are taking offence and posting properly! Shear laziness and so damn annoying, just because I don’t have an android (and I don’t want one!!) . Anyway, let’s stop bickering and get back on topic

It's nothing to do with Android/Apple OS. It's the browser you're using on your phone. Try chrome and it should work fine.

Sad to report Steve has been permanently banned from posting the best contributor in SE  what he said wasn’t acceptable but tensions were running high, one shouldn’t be aggravated by a moderator. I’m sure the site wants to look like it’s not being selective in who they punish, but yes you’ve achieved that now. Happy?

weather 4C and very wet. Sums up this winter.

He hasn't been banned. Just not posting anymore. He changed the name on his profile to SMU.

Much better overnight runs, and met saying chance of disruption due to snow Saturday.

BTW what's happened to SM it says he doesn't exist anymore on the forum. WTF has happened, he be enjoying the chance of snow and the increasing chance of severe cold later on this month

He changed his name to "No longer posts here" and the again to "SMU".

A pity, we've lost too many knowledgeable posters from here now. All because too many in the MOD thread can't keep their emotions in check.

I was complaining about neither, if you're actually reading my posts. Must have me confused with someone else. I was moaning about media coverage of the weather and responding to people pretending Lancashire was somehow now in the midlands.

Also you're allowed to criticise general nuttiness of the model thread, you just can't criticise individual posters. There's nothing wrong with criticising the entire thread yo-yoing between two similarly mediocre runs.

You're right, I wasn't criticising you directly, I didn't even read what you had written. But as you was the first to jump in my post, I assumed you were one of snippers.

My post was aimed at the posters who thinks it's fine to criticise those that post in the mod thread when they offer nothing to the forum themselves. And they are the ones who bring this forum down far more than the general ramping and cold chasing that goes on in the mod thread.

And no, you shouldn't be able to criticise what you call the "general nuttiness" of the mod thread, unless you yourself are prepared to do it in a way of presenting your own thoughts in a constructive manner without reducing yourself to insulting people, even in a general term.

If you don't like what's being posted in the forum, you do have options. You can ignore it, you can challenge it in the proper manner, or you can PM the person directly.

I've been here long enough to remember when Moans, Ramps and Banter threads started - they were set up for exactly that purpose to remove the dross from the main models thread, they were originally called model moans, ramps and banter. I don't know what purpose you're attributing to them, but there existence is a legacy from when model watching had it's own specialist sub forum and had these threads alongside the daily model threads to cut down on non-model related cack in the model threads.

I'm sorry, were you complaining about the models or the people posting in the model thread?

I'm sure, with your extensive experience of this forum, know the difference between the two. And which of the two is allowed and which one isn't!
