  1. Calm down, its literally only getting started, no one was forecast deep snow off that band, tbh the quicker it shifted the better as the convection can get get going, which it is now.
  2. Yep, people take models to literally. 850's, 2m temps, always too high for most of the region, slowly dropping now. P.s gritter has been down our street twice already tonight, always a good sign
  3. Does anyone know how you bring up actual scales on the V8 radar? This is the current dew points, but I'm not sure what each colour represents, same with 850's. Cheers
  4. Yeah, Lanehead still has lying snow, even after all the rain. Anything that falls from tonight, won't be going anywhere for a while
  5. A lot of you probably use this site, but for those that don't, its a great way of looking around County Durham to see what the weathers doing and temperatures B6309 Medomsley - Durham County Council WWW.DURHAM.GOV.UK We have several weather station cameras next to roads in the county. You can use them to see what the weather and traffic is like on those roads.
  6. Just been up to Tescos in Consett (literally the coldest place on earth ) and it was definitely turning sleety, 2.5 degrees on the car dashboard
  7. Anyone worried about snowfall should read Matt's tweet above, there simply isn't a model that is good at picking up convection off the North sea. Oh and the BBC weather maps are useless. Also remember as it will be so cold, even the small showers can build up depth quickly.
