  1. Current weather Consett WWW.METEOBLUE.COM What’s the weather in Consett? Get high resolution satellite, rain radar images and hourly forecasts. Worth a look, hopefully we will see the showers building out in the North sea in the coming days
  2. Cold weather alert. Does mention showers in the North and potential travel disruption, could see some updated met warnings soon.
  3. Icon is renowned for having loads of showers in the sea that don't move inland, that won't be an issue here To add to those models, UKV shows showers continuing through Sunday, although i think Sunday morning will be the lightest of the showers, beefing up as we progress.
  4. I had a post written out last night saying exactly that, then decided against it at the last minute. You just get "you've had all your snow". Don't think they realise that not everyone up here lives on a hill 200m above sea level
  5. Looks like it possibly on the latest run, will chop and change I'd imagine as we move forward. Honestly i think we'll all see plenty of the white stuff in the next week
  6. As i posted above, Marco from the Met is predicting disruptive snow. That warning is just a blanket warning for the whole east coast, he says these will be updated as we progress and theres more confidence in where streamers and the like will set up. Gfs starting to show this on the 12z.
  7. Personally i think thats just a general warning for a large area, I'd expect more local warnings as we get closer. I'd be amazed if we only see light showers with such synoptics.
  8. I just don't see that tbh mate, if anything the largest accumalations are forecast in the Northeast, maybe less so nearer the coast
  9. Latest UKV has showers in by Sunday lunchtime, will be more frequent as the day profmgresses, don't want to post it, as I'm not subscribed to it, but it's on the main model discussion
  10. I'd bet my house we'll do better than the South east. In my opinion that frontal snow isn't what we should be concentrating on, the quicker that shifts the better.
  11. 2010 is still unsurpassed up here, it was quite unbelievable and may take some beating. Looking at the strength of the wind coming in early next week though, if places get stuck under a streamer then there will be some serious snowfall. I keep hearing that the North has had its fun, and we've had a fair bit in my area, but friends 13 miles away haven't had diddly squat, so this up coming spell is hopefully going to get everyone their fill of snow
  12. 100%, i know down south they are hoping for this frontal snow, but personally I'd like it to clear as quick as possible and get that convective snow going
  13. That pink blob up north is right over my house, generally in an easterly flow, we do fantastic, from the west, not so much. Generally the main models struggle with picking up showers coming in off the North sea, will be looking at the high res with interest as they come in to view.
  14. They aren't accurate mate, there will be loads of showers piling in, may start off light but they'll get heavier as we head through Sunday in to the next week. For what its worth, I'm not far from you and Met has heavy snow all the way through from Sunday to Wednesday. Snow depths from 0z GFS attached
