  1. Can't actually see any precipitation on the radar over south Suffolk at the moment...?

I can assure you it's snowing moderately....... could be because it's low resolution radar. It's also very foggy..... has been know to snow in fog :winky:

The Met Office forecast 2cm - possibly 5cm for my location tonight, will be interesting to see what accumulations build up overnight but I suspect they have been a little optimistic with 5cm.

  2. Been snowing here in Sudbury since 21:00. Initially fine & light, now falling moderately. We have an inch of the white stuff on all surfaces, with the brisk wind blowing it about.

The lastest 18z (As Dave 'TEITS' has recently stated) has the precipiatation progged to move at a more NW - SE direction, so places like SE Suffolk, Essex, Kent & even SE London could see snowfall continue well into tomorrow, albeit lighter & more patchy with pressure once again on the rise.

Easterly's sweep in bitter air again from tuesday with sub zero days likely right through until the weekend.

  3. After a beautiful, clear and crisp day in Sudbury the clouds are now starting to roll in with a strengthening easterly wind. It really is perishing out there now :cold: .

My take on this evenings and tonights snowfall is for a continuation of light snow flurries/showers feeding into Lincolnshire and North Norfolk, with a gradual trend for these to extend down the coast into Suffolk and Essex as the night progresses, with Kent in the firing line tomorrow. A penertrating and severe frost with minimums falling to - 10C in many inland rural locations sheltered from the east wind.

12z rolling out now..... will saturday night's/sunday's snowfall be pushed further west, now were well into the reliable timeframe? I suspect so........ with my bets on Cornwall up through the Irish Sea/Eastern Ireland getting globbered with the white stuff, and East Anglia staying bitterly cold with some snow showers.

    Eyes down..... :good:
