  2. One of THE best weather documentary series I have seen! Outstanding! Hope they do a DVD of it for my collection one day.

Yes Tonyh, certainly is one of the best. The BBC do some fantastic documentary's and this is up there with the best.

Looking forward to next weeks program.

  5. Very chilly evening here after what has been a warm day. Temperature down to 5.4C here in Haverhill, Suffolk.

Fylingdales in Yorkshire is down to 2C at 23:00. That is very cool indeed especially with several hours of cooling to go. Negative figures tonight?

  6. A lovely day here with crystal clear and sunny skies. The breeze has been very notable though, especially when your in the shade and exposed to the light to moderate east, northeasterly wind.

Can't complain though, it has been very nice in the Spring sunshine.

  7. Had some very early morning North Sea cloud which eventually broke up by 9am to give what has been a very pleasent day.

Although the breeze was a little chilly first thing, temperature's warmed up nicely by mid-afternoon climbing into the mid-teens.

  8. Just watched the first part of a new three part documentary series on BBC 4, about the weather in this country. Pretty good, lots of archive footage,

history, facts and figures etc. First programme was about rain, next week SNOW! It's on Monday night, BBC 4 at 9pm, have a look. :(

    Many thanks Loraine, thoroughly enjoyable.

Just watched the documentary in BBCi Player. Fantastic program all about British rainfall from the history of it to how rain develops in the atmosphere. I learnt a few things! :wallbash: (When air rises it cools and the moisture condenses into tiny water droplets (Clouds) which then join together to produce rain droplets).

Excellent documentary with footage of past flooding......very much look forward to program 2 of 3 (The Weather). Hopefully one will be about the wind and thunderstorms! :good:

  9. yes looks very thundery on his cam...............sferics coming off that cell on radar...the Main Tornado threat is further East as far as I know at present

edit.I can see why a few are in this area now...seems to be an increase in shower development

lol.............did you see the bolt of lightning then anyone

Yes I did see that Dogs. :o

Steve has positioned himself perfectly now. He is now 100% in the firing line!! Thats just about where I'd park up, spark up and set the tri-pod up

This is great following his chase.......

    Seasons

EDIT: He is off again, now this time I'm not sure why as the core of this storm (dark red radar echos) were heading bang on towards him <_< Maybe he has thrown the towel in :good:

  10. Steve Polley parked up now waiting for the storm to roll in. The radar echo's are dark red/pink, so I guess we should be seeing a strong storm through his live stream video during the next 15 minutes. Some awesome cloud structures!

Very lively in this area currently............

Dogs32 :good: Looking very threatening on Steve's video.....interesting times. Will we see a nado? <_<

  11. severestudios.com - steve polley chasing

He seems to be travelling west, southwest just passing through Wichita Falls (inbetween Fort Worth and Oklahoma City).

Some threatening cloudscapes ahead......................speed up Stevey!!

Mark Hill is not far from Steve Polley being situated NW of Wichita Falls rather than SW where Steve currently is at 21:48 British time....

  12. Great pics there Jurgen. :D

A small thunderstorm/downpour drifted north just to my east yesturday afternoon.

Lets hope this set-up continues well into Summer with low pressure anchored over western France pumping up warm thundery plumes over eastern France, Holland, Belguim then onto Kent and East Anglia :D

  13. Drizzle and mist sums up Suffolks current weather situation. Winds are very light and variable with maximum temperatures holding up at 11.2C.

With the front being extremely slow moving I guess we in the east will have to put up with this kind of weather for at least another 36 hours :o

Bring on the storms I say - yesturday had a very thundery feel about it in Cambridge. My eyes were peeled looking up and around :o there was definately something brewing but nothing kicked off sadly.

Another stunning morning here this morning with plenty of hazy sunshine and temperatures already up to 12.2C. The warmth hangs on! :D

    :D

Funny enough Paul, I have just taken a ganda at the latest Visable Satellite output and it clearly shows you are hanging on to the clearer, almost sunnier skies. Anyone enjoying there Easter Holiday from Ipswich to Lowestoft (East of the A12) should be having a cracker so far!! Parts of Norfolk exceeded 18C yesturday, with sunny skies and light southeasterly winds to-boot.
