As BF said in the technical discussion thread, this could well be the trough to watch!
Already a very pronounced line of quite heavy/thundery downpours - will be interesting to see if the sun gets out, and with potential surface heating, how it interacts with the forecast CAPE!
Watching that trough carefully Harry. A very interesting early - mid afternoon in Herts, Essex, Cambridge and Suffolk.

Nice photos, the rainfall looks very heavy in your forth picture. Thanks for sharing.

Had some good thunderstorms recently, but still knowhere near as good as the one I chased near Duxford 4 1/2 weeks ago (Near Duxford).
Can't believe how lucky I got that day. And most of it was luck with a little bit of skill :o
TEITS that is interesting with regards to the funnels/Tornado's in recent times in Peterborough. There seems to have been many tubes in recent years in the triangle area I have highlighted below. With the landscape being very flat in this area (The Fens) I suspect this plays a large part.
Paul S, can you give me directions to your Bbq next Sunday. Would be great to meet up with you and other storm enthusiasts. Ta.....

P.s. Does anybody want to buy my Nikon D80 (That took the pictures above) Im currently upgrading my camera equipment. Im sure some of you know how good this Nikon Camera is. I thought I would ask here first before it goes on E Bay. :o It would come with all original boxing, discs, cables, a Tamrac Pro 8 camera bag and 3 great camera Lenses. Selling all for £600. It cost me £1200 2 years ago. Pm me if interested.

It was awesome thanks jo, especially the lapdance clubs at 4am. All the lads remember nothing, we were on the beer 20 hours aday for 3 days and it got very messy indeed. Lol.
I have 3 new hernia's through so much laughter.
Did anyone see me on BBC Lookeast tonight (Story starts 6m 30s and Im on 8m 20s)...........my throat is a bit hoarse!!

Having seen the programme thought the footage was quite interesting but found the presenter a bit of an annoying pratt
H
Was an excellent programme Habsish and it was great to see Paul and Stu in there, but one small downer was the presenter. He was very dramatic.

Nice one, how did you get in contact with him? I've tried before but never got any replys to emails!
I'm guessing you took the pictures with a decent camera? that would be handy if they wanted a higher res pic for a full page or something (and get you some cash!).
Cheers Ross.
I sent the Sun Newspaper an email about todays events about 10pm and Phillip Case kindly returned my e-mail at 23:00 and asked me to call him. We have each others details now, which is great. Next time I can send the pictures straight off to him rather than leaving it too late.
Yes, he that one of the pictures would have made the front page. Incredible stuff......

Gav
Send them to the BBC As well. Last weeks Suffolk Tornado made it onto the Meto Home Page!
Was a great Convergence Zone today all the way from Lincs down to Thames Estuary. Most Funnels and Tornadoes are viewed from the West of the Storm so I am guessing Gavin was looking East. Lovely Images and still gutted we did not get a picture of my 1st Uk Funnel which extended 1/3 to the ground looking from the West, at least James was with me and can back this report up. Sod law the Uk traffic screwed me up.
Paul S
Will do Paul, cheers. Spot on there mate, I was looking East.
Thats 2 in a week for this area. Pretty impressive and probably wont happen again for a while. Although Haverhill did have a Tornado a couple of years back which ripped a Hotel roof off. I remember standing behind ITV whilst they were doing a live lunchtime report. Think it was early January 2006??

Have spoken to the Sun Newspaper (Phillip Case). He liked the images and said they would have made it in. But it is possibly too late because all the papers are out now and they would have to reprint lots more. Phillip said there considering it though I have my fingers and toes crossed.
I didn't have to e-mail them to him either, I showed Phillip (The Sun editor) Net-weather storm section.
Sent them to Lookeast. Lets see what Julie can do

Fantastic pics seasons-The 5th pic sends a shiver down my spine-I can just imagine that leaden sky rolling towards me across the field-I wouldnt be able to control myself!
Not only was there rotation all along the cloud base, the whole storm from left to right was moving in a circle. I guess it was a Supercell. Cars driving by must have thought I was crazy because I actually got on my knees, looked up and shouted "Drop a ***** tube, you know you want to". Then it did!!!!!! LOL
Im mad but love my hobbie!!!!!
Some great comments from fellow chasers/storm fanatics. Thanks guys

Left home at 10:30 for the chase. Headed off towards Six Mile Bottom (East Cambridge). Great location for watching storms roll in (with it being very high and flat and countryside all around you).
Nothing much was happening at this point although I knew later on this location would be ideal!
Anyway, to cut along story short  I heading of towards south Norfolk, then Sandy in Bedforshire, then down the Baldock (Royston). By this time it was getting on for 15:00. Skies were reletively clear.......then BANG. Cumulonimbus clouds shot up to the east and south of my location. It was a real sight watching them rise and tower so quickly!
I knew these storms were tracking east, northeast (But developing all the time on the back edge - IMO always the severest part). So I bombed up the A505 (Doing 80mph ) heading east about 10 miles - watching these towers turn into a HUGE thunderstorm. Stopped just off the A505 very near Melbourne (Top of hill) in Cambridgeshire.
Here are the pictures. CG lightning was the best I have ever seen along with the cloud rotation. I witness 3 funnel clouds and 1 tornado that touched down in the countryside. It was a great day and I only wish you could have all been there, especially Paul.
I hope you all like.
2010 with Paul and the team stormchasing stateside!

We had the same storm down here, never ever seen anything like it. There was hail feet thick between Halstead and Gosfield.
Incredible wasn't it!!! This was no 7 or 8.........this was a 10
Jammy git look forward to the picsI clocked up 150 miles driving around Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Herts between 10:30 and 15:00
Then found my spot........set-up the tripod n snap snap snap galore!!!

3 Funnel clouds and 1 Tornado in one afternoon.........
A crazy violent storm balloned 15:00 - 16:00 this afternoon from Cambridge eastwards. By 16:15 you could see the whole storm circulating, it was quite incredible!!!! This sounds absolutely stupid, but when the funnel touched ground I got on my hands and knees and prayed LOL. This storm was throwing out CG's like no tomorrow with evil circulating wall clouds. Quite amazing storm, one Im sure I wont see again for a long while.
Have loads of pictures. Will post them up shortly - next half hour.
Eventually drove head on into it. HERITAGE!!!!

And there off
Will be watching every second of this............lets hope the team bag a tornado.

Snap! Have been at the laptop almost non-stop since 9am this morning and watching patiently.
I can feel the moisture pouring through the window onto me - the room is not overly warm, but very muggy! It is raining steadily at the moment.
The PS3 is making a high pitch moaning sound like a tornado siren in the mid-west - these omens are really quite nasty, lol
Lol. You'll get your rewards Harry. I really think we are in for a pasting over the next 3 hours. BANG!

Wind does seem to be playing havoc with the kick-up competition. I counted about 15 there from Aaron  Still a great effort in what looks like a gale force wind.
So, the winner is Paul with 20 plus kick-ups
