  1. Wow those photos, that could have been over the UK easily today or yesterday such was the energy available. Not sure London could cope with that the PM might have had to find 50000 new £1mil flats in London cause she would be blamed for it lol
  2. Storms managed to avoid my neck of the woods this time, but at least the excessive heat has gone. I love summer weather but this week was too much for me. My 12 year wait for a proper decent thunderstorm goes on lol (Im talking one with at least 4 flashes a minute within 5 miles of me)
  3. Storm is just to the south of me heading into central London by the look of it. Looks impressive from my window
  4. In the last 10 years there is a NW London storm shield isnt there lol
  5. I love photo 8, That cloud is almost ready to drop an F3
  6. I just want the same weather that we had 20-30 years ago lol
  7. I could begrudgingly accept less snow and cold in winter due to "global warming", but it doesnt give the increase in storms or nice heat-waves during the summer. Its like the UK weather is actually cursed, trying to deliver autumn weather all year round. Moan over, just my observations over the last 5-10 years. Back in the 70s 80s 90s we had decent winters and decent summer heat/storms, where and why has it all stopped?
  8. Considering such extensive blocking has been around all winter, and a very quiet Atlantic, this has got to literally be the worst winter ever given the potential there was for epic cold spells.
  9. I remember that day well, Started snowing hard mid morning. School decided to close at lunch and by then the buses and tubes had all stopped an even main roads were blocked. Had to walk home 5 miles from Hendon to Kilburn, loved every minute!! That was a good day in my life seeing the insane heavy snow fall all day leaving over a foot easily and bitterly cold. And stuck around for days after too! The 1980s were such a great decade for cold and snow!!
  10. One good thing I found a £5 note this morning, which if we had 6 inches of lying snow I would not have seen.
  11. At least I have seen a snowflake this year, all be it a grainy tiny one or two. Looks like its full steam ahead to spring after this weekends tepid attempt at winter. If we actually ever get a proper 1980s easterly again one day I dont think anyone under the age of 30 would be able to cope with it lol
  12. Such a shame, as we were so near to getting the perfect UK snow and cold setup. Ah well at least heating bills will be lower I suppose!
  13. The fact is that mother nature hasn't even decided what it is going to do next week yet. Small random differences in how the weather/atmosphere behaves in the coming hours and days can make such a huge change in a weeks time. No model will ever be accurate 5-7 days ahead because of this.
  14. lolololol shotski bolton wandering HP to the north too!!!
  15. Exactly lol The fact I saw a few non settling snowflakes this year was a highlight, last 3 years not a single flake! I live in hope
  16. I have been with you guys on let-down over let-down over the last few years, but something tells me this time its got a real chance of being a proper cold 2nd half of feb a la 1980s I hope im not let down yet again, im normally the words biggest pessimist but got a good feeling about this!
  17. Thunder and lightning here, 1st strike scared the cr@p out of me proper overhead!
  18. Raining hard in Kilburn NW6 under a very black cloud, looks like it will clear soon although the clouds hardly moving.
  19. Looking nice and settled for a week or 2 at least. Im not complaining here!!
  20. No snow in winter, no hot weather or storms in summer. Miserable springs and autumns. It wasnt like this when I was younger
