Really interested to see how the ECM pans out this eve, met office outlook was poor for southern uk stating rain or sleet but I don’t really follow them anymore. This Low is going to be interesting too, I believe it will stay south and be much weaker.
Rain and sleet in south with very cold temperatures I think they have that wrong

I remember last Christmas was looking odds on for snow and cold, then something similar to what the ECM has done on the last 2 runs happened and it ended up being mild. We need models back track tomorrow.
Yep remember that looked like many was going get white Christmas then all went belly up.

I wonder if we'll finally see the Met Office climb down off the fence they've been sitting on in terms of the longer outlook given last nights EC46 + overnight ensemble trends, quite clear that we're heading towards a protracted period of below average temperatures now, the only question is how cold.
I've noticed Mets beginning to ramp up the messaging re: colder weather on Twitter in the last day or so.Yes will be interested to see what they will right up yesterday’s update was slightly backtrack with rain in south snow on hills

That suggests they are going with this mornings ECM?
If that’s the case I must be jinxed it happens every winter hopefully great runs this evening.

Upcoming spell of cold, snowy weather? When? Where? I must have missed that.
I haven’t seen any posts stating we are in for cold and snow just potential blocking what could happen in December .

Looking at the ensemble suites & ignoring the dets there really is no support for cold into the UK in the mid-extended range. A brief period of below average temperatures this weekend/early next week but beyond that quite a strong signal for a return to above average conditions right out into early December.
So all in all.. a very grim outlook for snowmantics.
Yes not looking good for snow for uk at moment any chance of sudden switch frosty outlook
