  1. The big blow blew down about 40% of my fencing missing my head by about 2", very scary! Great looking cloud formations this morning as the rain approached, shame i didnt have a camera handy.
  2. I know what you mean, the forecast tonight was for a few light, scattered flurries! Its a joke sometimes.
  3. Snaw starting to fall in Lochgelly, fine grain stuff but defo getting heavy
  4. Sky certainly looking more threatening in the last 20 mins. Hope Lochgelly gets some tonight!
  5. Just had a ten minute blizzard, only a dusting but its stcking and wet paths are freezing. Gonna be slippy the night
  6. Lovely blue sky over Lochgelly at the moment with dropping temperatures. I see another shower approaching from the east, maybe this will leave a covering enough to last. Whats the radar looking like for convection thru the night?
  7. Just going to go out on my cycle and brave the snaw, great stuff!
  8. Great snow pics, was wonderful to see at least 2" on the ground this morning when the BBC were only hinting at a few wintry flurry's!
  9. Took today off work and what a day to take off! Woke up at 3:15am looked out the window and thought it was foggy, nah, really heavy snow. Well could not sleep after that. Really hefty, intense snow and soft hail showers this morning. What a wonderful snowy morning!
  10. Wonder why the good ole BBC didnt really pick up on the intensity of the showers ratling through the central belt today. The site still shows only light scattered wintry showers?
  11. Like the look of those charts. Showers certainly becoming more intense as the day has progressed, lets hope for a guid nite of snaw!
  12. Just had a very intense snow and soft hail shower in Alloa. You could see it coming for about 20 mins. A big increase in wind and very heavy snow. Only lasted 10 mins but gave a temporay covering in places. Very enjoyable after the snizzle of late >
  13. Intermittent heavy snow and hail showers here in Alloa giving a temporary light cover on grass etc, gone within a few minutes after the shower, nice sunshine in between the showers though.
  14. Snowfall seems to be aided by the lighter wind today too, showers taking longer to push through.
  15. A very heavy snow and soft hail shower here in Alloa at the moment. Ground slowly turning white!
  16. A nice wee covering this morning 2-3cm at the most, good looking radar as well, could be good today!
  17. Do you think there will be much in the way of convection on that stiff easterly wind both before and after the frontal event?
  18. was it not the case that the Atlantic was in its cold phase? I do remember that in the 70's we did have a string of cold and snowy winters. I also remember certain science journals and media predicting a slow haul back to an ice age lol
  19. Rather sleety when i came home at 5pm this from Alloa, heavy snow now though and just starting to show signs of laying now.
  20. Well it was very impressive this morning, about 3 inch's in lochgelly and great ride in the car to work in near blizzard conditions. Here in alloa its hardly stopped snowing all day with some pretty heavy falls but its very et snow and all the lying snow has just about melted. Hoping my home in lochgelly is getting pasted!
  21. Just looked out the window and its good to see! Looking forward to staying in fife tomorrow if the amber alerts come to fruition!
  22. Alloa certainly seems to have brightened up and become less 'murky', could be as the colder temperatures kick in. Tomorrow is certainly looking awesome if it comes off.
  23. Still a very sleety rain here in Alloa, temperature certainly feels like it has dropped further? Just seen the amber warnings, exciting stuff!
  24. Rain in lochgelly this morning and in Alloa although the temperature has fallen a degree or so in the last hour. Should think by 11am we should be close to a degree or so of freezing. The next two days look amazing! Bring it on!
