  1. Mile 22 of my cycle ride, push, pull hike from west to east showed that the forecast for last Saturday was very correct in that 22 miles west of kyle of Lochalsh and it was puring down and did so until about 4pm!
  2. My West to east Coast Cycle last weekend, this photo showing deep snow patches! I have put the names of the Munro's in the background, all with snow still lying!
  3. The sun seems to be doing its job here in Alloa, cloud burning back nicely and feeling warm. Wouldnt suprise me if we had near cloudless skies by late afternoon. Looking better for the next few days to with more chances of any overnight cloud and haar burning back and giving pleasant if not hot conditions in Fife. Anstruther and the likes could be very cool with a breeze though.
  4. Went to bed last night at about 11pm to the sound of heavy rain rattling on the dormer roof, didnt see that coming! Lots of cloudy haary stuff this morning, looks more promising than yesterday though to break up, lets hope
  5. same here in Alloa, occasional sun trying to shine through the clouds but not lik yesterday. Still, it feels not bad and its dry!
  6. Well back from my cycle from west to east coast via Kyle of Lochalsh, Glen Licht, Glen Affric SYH and on to Beauly! Saturday cycling past Eilean Donan Castle and on to Glen Licht House was very wet with some heavy cloud bursts from about 13:00 hrs onwards. The rest of the weekend and Monday were fantastic with dry weather predominating leading to some great climbing conditions on Sunday and cycling out on Monday. I will post some pictures later today! Alloa is currently trying to be sunny between periods of cloud and haar! Not wet, not cold, so lovely
  7. Beautiful evening here in Lochgelly, clear blue sky, late evening sunshine, bliss!
  8. Its cracking in Lochgelly, the town has never looked so nice!
  9. Even though its now overcast, its still very pleasant with nice breeze and it feels warm. It feels like an early July day, you know the ones like when wimbledon is on, its dry but there is wet on the way in some form!
  10. Thanks CMD, and I will do on both accounts. I expect there will be lots of pushing and carrying as well as cycling lol, if its in fine weather though it wont be so bad! The cycle in will be great if the weather holds with views of Eileen Donan Castle, some darker clouds from a weakening front might also lead to a good atmospheric shot though.
  11. Great Pic NorthernLights! Just started to rain here now but the smells of the tree's which seem to be catching up from the season's late start are wonderful. I am cycling from the west coast to east from the kyle of Lochalsh to Muir of Ord via Glen Affric over the weekend and was hoping for a good start however, it looks like it may be rather wet on Saturday morning. The rest of the week looks like it may be better but I am surprised at all of the uncerrtainty still! I thought the models only struggled in the winter if the weather came from the east. It does make for good comedy on the Model Thread with the gibing and snipes
  12. Bright but cloudy this morning but without tha chill that yesterday had. Looking to the weekend and I think that we still may be lucky (in the NW) for some sunshine and dry conditions. That high is trying its best but just cannot seem to be able to go that extra mile (coupleof hundred would be nice)
  13. Just looked on the BBC 5 day forecast for Kyle of Lochalsh and itsonly 12 degrees, much cooler on the tops, may need buy an eskimo outfit brrr
  14. Planning a cycle trek from Kyle of Lochalsh through Glen Affric (staying at the youth hostel sat/sun night) and cycling through to Muir of ord the following Monday. I was hoping that azores high might have influenced that part of the country by then, looking not so sure now. Still, will keep my fingers crossed. Had a great sunny day at Aberdour on Saturday, so lovely this country when the weather is set fair!
  15. Lovey morning this morning over Fife and into Clackmannanshire, bit of a light rain shower about 7am though. There is a definite chill to that breeze!
  16. Indeed a beautiful and a sad day, lets hope at least that the chasers and forecasters can learn something from this tragic weather event leads to a greater understanding and a greater chance of saving lives in the future.
  17. Well although we had nothunder and lightening in Lochgelly we did have some impressive rainfall. Surprised me how quickly it developed, one moment i was driving in sunshine looking at a development and then 20 mins later really heavy rain was punding the car and soaking the missus as she got in (a good day then lol). Lovely sunny and fresher morning today
  18. Just looking at that now, does seem a little flat though at the moment, lets hope your wish comes true for a westerly shift
  19. Too much even convection here now i think for there to be any significant storms. Looks like most of the big stuff is further north into Perth. Its stil early though and I am still hoping!
  20. Sky is certainly darkening here to the north of Alloa, hard to tell to much as there is a lot of convection. What a great day for chasing (dont suppose the council will give me time off)
  21. Sudden build up in the last 30mins here in Alloa, looking a lot more threatening although no precipitation yet.
  22. Looking forward to the potential today, atmosphere seems loaded for something nice and big!
  23. Cycled to work from Dunfermline to Alloa this morning on cycle route 76, what a lovely spring like day! Some groundfrost this morning but lovely to see, my head even feels a little burned High pressure looking increasingly likely into the weekend, lets hope that thundery breakdown is just a wobbly and we have a sustained summery period of weather, My potatoes need it!
  24. The BBC are showing a maximum of 7c for Fife on Thursday that would leave the Ski runs well below freezing in this setup!
  25. Its the price we pay for having colder iar further south, the pole gets an enhanced melting season!
