    Wind has just shot up, blowing a gale now in Alloa, rain become heavy and very cold at that. Glad some people are getting snaw!

    Starting to rain here in Alloa, maybe as it gets heavier we may get a little snow before it turns back to rain?

    Nice few snow showers yesterday evening with a decent frost this morning. Severe gales for tonight forecast in Fife, wonder if there will be any snow in that. After a brief hint of real winter cold in the medium term, seams like the models are dropping this now, still very early to say!

    Same here in lochgelly, very nearly passed out when I looked out the window this morning, all white and wintry!!!!!

    Cant get a photo, but there seems to be a defined line where the snow is lying on the ochils rather than a 'mixing' line as susual. Must be a deifinitive temperature change at about 1700ft!

    Rain just starting here in Alloa, ochil';s becoming obscured with snow I think. Raw Wind!

    It does look like parts of Fife and the central belt will miss some of the worst (or best) of the weather today courtesy of shelter from the west. Hope the Ochils and the lomonds get a pasting, would like to sledge at least once this winter!

    I remember being 10 year old and reading in the headlines 'Snow in Flaming June'!

    I am going to take my sledge and my wife (in that order) up to the highlands this weekend before the snow goes away and enjoy it. This will preserve my sanity and remind my mind that there are more colours than GREY!

    Not even sleety pish here, just pish! Really looking forward to spring now I think and some useable days. Its been that mild that still have useable lettuce and rocket salad in my garden that still tastes good!

    It wa strange, but when i came out this morning at 6:30am in Lochgelly I was expecting a hard frost but the grass apart from a few snow flakes from yesterday was soft and the car was partially melted of frost! Very little cloud to speak of too, curious!

    I was not expecting this as the forecast was for it to be further north but we are having some 'robust' snowy, sleety showers at the moment and its getting colder all the time. By the looks of the radar we could be in for some quite heavy showers through the afternoon.

    I agree completely, so why do them at all then, and why have the capacity for a MET Office red warning system when it clearly is not used. I am responsible adult and as such will make decisions based on observation and guidance. If Government organisations are to issue guidance then it should be done consistantly and in a timely manner.

    Thats transport scotland just updated its warning to red, dont travel. What! a bit late in the day now that rush hour is almost over and people have already committed! And the MET have not upped thier warnings to Red with over half a dozen +100mph gusts recorded, stations closed and the whole rail network closed, beggers belief!

    Thats just blue sky coming over and the winds seeming to be less intense now, still gusty but maybe thats the back edge away through!

    Just heard that there was a recorded gust at 102mph at Glenochil in Clackmannanshire this morning. The wind will just be squeezed thrugh the carst!

    I can second that! I work in Kilncraigs building with all that glass, really scary to see it bending with the bigger gusts. Exciting stuff, glad your safe!

    Well I recorded 82mph in my garden at Lochgelly just before I came out to work at 6:25am this morning. Electricity on and off all last night. Noticed some sleet in the rain just as I arrived in work 10 mins ago, must be approaching the back edge soon, still feels mild though in the wind and rain!
