  1. Well the ramping for a fine and warm settled spell on the model thread is in full throttle. Although it looks good, it would only take a little alteration of the position of the high and we up here in bonny scotland would become very changeable. I would love a fine and settled spell to take us in to autumn proper. Really chilly this morning, had to put a jumper on today!!!!!
  2. Just seeing some high cloud coming in from the northwest ahead of the rain later tonight and tomorrow. End of a lovely day though, now looking forward to hearing the tiles on the dormer bedroom rattle LoL
  3. Great day today, lovely pleasant warm sunshine and blue sky's most of the time. Managed to get my potatoes in and stow away the garden furniture ahead of the blow tomorrow! Could do with a. few more days like this before winter comes I think
  4. Well, I was hoping to leave thegarden furniture out a while longer but I think that I will bring it in on Saturday after I have harvested my tatties! That storm looks a beastie with a slightly wintery feel at height. Not that we have not had big storms before at this time of year but they have mostly been old hurricane cores that have brought mild air from the mid/south Atlantic, this one will be a real taste of Autumn. Still one last chance towards the end of September to enjoy the sun lounger (unless the wife catches me)
  5. You can have it Could be some damage in the far north, trees are still full of leaves!
  6. That storm is looking very tasty for next week although everything looks upin the air atm!
  7. If this came to fruition and given the current uncertainty in the models, could this be a rather cloudy high in Scotland given the air flow is from the mid Atlantic?
  8. ECM shows a possible quick rebuild of high next week, could be quite warm!
  9. The colours are supposed to be fantastic this year because of the dryness:)
  10. I am one of those David and appreciate the vast amount of knowledge put into these posts, ramping or not. I follow the MOD thread and my local scottish thread where I post a little more than on here. Thanks to all
  11. We would be praying for that setup come December/January. Could be well chilly if this comes to fruition.
  12. Cracking day here in Lochgelly, Iam showing 29.5 on my weather station in the shadiest part of the garden. Some variable cloud just coming in with some quite dark bases now!
  13. Well some cloud the noo but still very warm and sunny. There sre still some hefty gusts of wind every now and then too, expect these to die down in the next day or so. Actualy got the bus to work this morning so i had th chance to peek out the window more and noticd just how dry the land and crops look. Not the usual lush greens but lots of developing browns and yellows! not had that in a long long while.
  14. Well a great morning in lochgelly and also in Alloa. Almost perfect blue skies! Going to be a warm one today maybe get 25 in Lochgelly. Just wondering how we may be affected by any cloud an haar this weekend? The GFS is looking like it could be indicating a breakdown next week sometime (just in time for my hols) lol, still to far in FI though i think.
  15. I think this might have been one of the reasons why we had so much snow the winter following the hot summer of 1976, a good easterly wind bringing in moisture from the north sea!
  16. Cracking day yesterday in Lochgelly, nice and warm with a strong breeze. best part of the day was the evening with mares tails againts a blue sky and just warm enough to sit out and enjoy a cup of tea whilst watching the potato's grow Off to Donegal in ireland at the end of the month, would be too much to hope it will last past then
  17. Its fantastic t see our local farmers being able to get good crops and good hay making. I was surveying areas in and aroud Dollar in Clackmannanshire yesterday and past around fileds where the farmer was collecting the hay, I cannot thik of a time hen it smelled so sweet! Lovely weather yesterday, very misty and cool in the morning then lovely hot sunshine in the afternoon. Cooled off in the evening with abit of a breeze and cloud, but still lovely!
  18. Well cycled in to work yesterday along route 76 from Dunfermline to Alloa, very pleasant. I then cycled to Dollar for my work and it was roasting, 28 by the time I arrived there. After work I cycled back home via the Fife coastal route through Culross and had a man size cold drink which didnt touch the sides. In the sun there out side of the pub it must have been over 30 degrees because of the shelter. Cracking day. It was also great watching the cloud coming in from the east with a wind change in the evening. I opened all the windows in the house and let the cool air blow trough and what relief!
  19. I have seena man eating chicken before but not a tea drinking hen, must be something to behold lol Must be the heat!
  20. Netweather do have a long range forecast for summer, it was due to be updated at the end of last month, I am sire it will be up soon.
  21. Well it certainly is a bit of a downgrade for parts of the central belt and parts of Fife. There could be a lot of cloud associated with the high the way it is but hey, still lots of opportunity for fine and warm weather with the current charts, much better than last year
  22. Well a cracking morning this morning, nice and cool with sunshine and the smell of greenery after the rain was just lovely. My garden is growing like crazy, perfect growing weather!. So just waiting for this front to drop its ran tonight and then hopefully a good week of fine sunshine and warm temperatures. I wouldnt be surprised of variable amounts of cloud though through next week depending on the orientation of the high. What a world away from last year.
  23. I am a man, my pwers of observation are limited, also was working when I posted (two things at once etc etc)
  24. if you looked like your Avatar I would be round for coffee Blizen lol
  25. Lovely start to this morning in lochgelly (5:30am) with sunshine and cloud starting to come in. By the time i was dropping the lovely Mrs Mc at Crombie, there was a lot of cloud coming in fom the west with a few spots of rain. Alloa has had some heavier rain bt very intermitten and still bright at times. Looking ahead its looking good for a good few days of sunshine although the BBC forecast for Lochgelly on saturday is still rather cloudy but bright with sunny intervals. Will have to be patient and wait till next week for good sunshine.
