  1. Seems the heavier showers are over the midlands and Wales. Let's hope it stays that way. Considering the BBC and weather Boffs over on twitter were saying that the heaviest for EA just goes to show showers crop up anywhere and are difficult to forecast!
  2. Just heard a rumble of thunder. Let's hope something more happens today otherwise that's a pathetic attempt at these so called storms forecast. It's nearly 3pm and not even had heavy rain yet let alone hail and electrical activity
  3. Been dry with sunny spells here since 10am so not too bad. Showers not to far away though! Twitter guys say EA good for heavier stuff this afternoon, areas to west of London should see things drying up... Hope so!
  4. Well carol kirkwood has just said on TV that even the chilterns and Cotswolds could see sleet today if the showers are heavy enough... MENTAL.
  5. Well I'm currently sitting in the persistent dull cold rain over the SE. Can't contain my excitement
  6. My cousin in Newburn - about 20 miles west of Newcastle. She confirms they have hail the size of marbles and fork lightning. Thunder every 30 seconds. Lightning striking ground level. Now that's a thunderstorm!!
  7. Weather profs over On twitter say best place for storms tomorrow, Yorkshire Lincolnshire and EA. Even here won't be torrential or that heavy. Looking forward to a dry few days after tomorrows showers even though it will be cold and cloudy at least there will be no water falling from the sky.
  8. Well looks like we are back to the cold, dull wet weather this morning. Once this has cleared through a chance of a few light showers. Then apart from tomorrow this week looks generally dry. So at least no heavy rain/thunderstorms to look forward to throughout the week, which I'm sure will please a lot of people including myself. The weekend looks like becoming unsettled, but where and when it will rain and if it will be heavy is anyone's guess.
  9. I don't think he was doubting yesterday was a nice day, but I have to agree with him, one day of t shirt weather in May in my book is pretty appalling. The charts show a wet weekend next coming up but im sure actually almost certain it could change. For better or worse
  10. Actually don't mind those charts. It will give me in the SE cool but sunny days! Snow for highlands? No big news really.
  11. Cannot wait to have a whole weekend without rain :-) Time to get out and do outdoors stuff. See you all on here when the rain drives me back indoors next week and I have nothing better to do. Have a good weekend.
  12. What's that very bright yellow thing in the sky? Also the sky is really blue, anyone else see it? ;-)
  13. First time this year my air con is used in car. So muggy in East London today
  14. Crikey... Some very intense echoes showing over Normandy at the moment moving north.... Gulp
  15. Hard to believe your not really that far from me, nothing like that here. Patio already dryed up in the muggy air with sunny spells. Spoke to my dad who worked nights and he said it rained heavy for a couple hours but wasn't a consistent rain. Just got off the a12 and certainly no canoe needed around here.
  16. Lincolnshire according to BBC tv forecast could hit 21c today. It's so muggy this morning, doors and windows open even with the cloud. LOVE IT.. From posts on here and charts was expecting some armageddon wash out this morning. Nothing of the sort. So very happy
  17. I'll discuss and say what I want thank you very much. This year so far is a lot wetter than average and living in the UK doesn't mean it rains all the time. I have a life and like to socialise and do outdoor things so yes it does annoy me when I have to endure day upon day of rain and cold. Just because I'm not posting charts and telling everyone its going to be a wash out does not mean I'm moaning. So if you would refrain from nic picking that would be a start.
  18. So where is this heavy rain? It's dry outside my window???? Looking at radar seems it was a blink and you'll miss it affair... Lol Looking forward to a dry few days.
  19. Never mind the SE having heavy rain tonight. Spare a thought for Wales, my aunt in north Wales says its been raining non stop for 8 hours and it's torrential at times. They also set to receive a lot more rain than us over the next 18 hours
  20. I remember London was predicted for the last soaking and it never happened, so we shall see
  21. As long as the charts and TV forecasts continue to show the heaviest stuff to the NW of London that's fine by me. Going to feel very muggy in London tomorrow, dry but cloudy with temps at 18/19c
  22. Wales and South West will get the heaviest rain - NOT US.... Excellent news. Can't wait for tomorrow midday onwards - Several days of dry weather to look forward to.... Whoop...!
  23. At least tomorrow afternoon is looking a lot dryer than originally forecast. Temps expected to shoot up to 19c in some places of our region. Most of the heavier rain is overnight so at least I'll be asleep Haha.. Yeah it was lovely here in London yesterday afternoon. But one afternoon of sunnier weather in May doesn't cut it for me unfortunately
  24. Well all the weather Boffs over on twitter are saying the heaviest rain will be in a line from the Southwest up to the wash with London and SE seeing lighter in comparison. I hope so, took the dog over Epping forest today and the ground is bogged, muddy and saturated. On a more serious note, all my family and friends are finding this dull wet cold weather quite hard to deal with, Infact I include myself in that! I look outside to grey slate skies with persistent rain and the air feels so cold well apart from today, but I can honestly say I find it so depressing and annoying! I literally cannot wait to have dry sunny weather. I know this is a weather forum but anyone that wants or likes more rain then I think there bonkers. Yes we all love a thunderstorm, but the persistent rain over tomorrow and Thursday will not produce a thunderstorm.
  25. Maybe the north west of our region. Say a line from MK Bedford Southeastwards have nothing to worry about, it will be too cloudy and even with clear sky's London and surrounding areas would really struggle to see a frost this time of year. Just watch BBC forecast and the frost is mainly midlands northwards, not us.
