  1. Not a big fan of the above it does give a good assessment where most snow will fall which is towards the N/W, however troughs & disturbances in the flow are not factored, thursday seems lively too! at least we have a raffle ticket, I'd rather have a chance then a no chance. Last week had a surprise cluster of snow showers coming up from channel, affecting parts of E Sussex & Kent not forecasted, with accumulations.

Actually it was well forecasted on WRFNMM

handy link for temps on the left hand side you can change it to dew point, temp, wind etc.

FWIW just saw BBC24 weather forecast and had snow showing for North Kent coast for early tomorrow morning. Think it's all going down to radar watching and peeking through the curtains. Not expecting anything here but never say never. The snow we had this morning has all pretty much melted due to the rain that came after it, was nice to wake up to though. Good luck everyone

  3. Essexgooner too far out to say where or won't get the white stuff. All about the trends at this stage.

Back to the here and now

Southern have this on their website for anyone using the trains tomorrow

    Weather Forecast

High winds are expected in coastal areas in the early hours of Thurdsay 15th January. Network Rail will be running empty trains first thing to check that routes are clear for the day's service. Please check before you travel.

  4. Well looks like there was another graupel shower whilst I was asleep. With regards to the Met Office graphics it is their own raw data. At close range like this it is best to look at them alongside any written forecast from them. I have a feeling the Met Office warning map is going to look pretty complicated later today.

  5. Noticeable how, that everything pivotal to snow has dropped temp/dp/850s the way we like it over the past few days. Even I'm likely to get snow with a measly 7M... pretty much everyone is in with a chance bar S coast, where it is more likely to be wet. Isn't it exciting. :D

Funny that because on our local weather it showed a sleet/snow shower passing right along the coast very early tomorrow morning. The moral from all of this is that because the are covered by the warning is so large, nobody can say where or won't get some of the white stuff.

  6. Regional threads are probably where you should be posting about snow in your local area. :)

Please continue to discuss the Atlantic Storm headed our way Wed/Thur.

To be fair Liam the thread title I notice has only just recently changed from January storms to 14/15 January and the reports were about focused on thunder rather than the snow element.
