England are s*ite, can't believe Woy played Sturridge for the whole game we've got a Derby to win on Saturday! Grrr!
-
What wind gusts are we looking at overnight?
-
I live on top of Billinge Hill and even I was expecting nothing tonight except cold rain, that's all I got last night at 2am in the morning, I was in bed asleep when the snow showers arrived soon after 6am and missed them. Gutted!

Well that was amazing, I've just witnessed the coldest rain I've ever felt at 168 metres above sea level. Night all.

Not what I can see for my postcode. Shows us dropping below 528 DAM by 21Z tonight and remaining below that until Tuesday evening, with uppers remaining at -5 or below from late this evening until late tomorrow evening.
I think you are looking at city of London which it defaults to.
Yes I was! lol
Streamers are good on a nwley but with strog winds won't last long.
Peter! Nice to see you back again! Did you manage to get any RAM? I didn't see your message until ages after you sent it so didn't reply, I have a spare 1 Gig.
-
You can see the uppers and thicknesses on here, those are most important.http://www.netweather.tv/index.cgi?action=snowforecast
Looking at that even at 3am it's very marginal with 529 DAM & -4 uppers, any heavy showers though will force the wintry showers/snow to the surface.

True,
And I'm not sure, neither can I now you mention it.
They do it every time the site get's busy, it eases the pressure on the server apparently.

I will have my prime spot in front of the fire tonight with my blinds open just enough to see the Lamp Post directly in front of my house, Might even get some Beers in! Good luck everyone which will surely be the first of many Lamp Post watches this coming Winter!

No prolonged deep cold but still a cold/frosty spell for next week, 06z GFS continues to show this just that the deep and prolonged cold has disappeared.
-
So after days of model watching it all boils down to a breif cold snap then? Was under the impression we were set for a long spell of cold setting in. But looks like we have all been made fools of by the models once again. But i guess a few days of cold and frosts is better than nothing i suppose. seems to me we will be heading back to a westerly regime in the not too distant future. Which would tie in well with rjs forecast. Looks like madden will be wrong though. So i guess every cloud has a silver lining.
Let's face it is Madden ever right? lol

In defence of SS he does post colder options when they are evident, of course he posts more mild ones out of preference but how many of us do exactly the same with cold charts.
True!! I never post about warmer charts or solutions so you have a point!
-
there are some people of us tht like mild weathr
maybe because not all of use like cold, we all have are own likes
But surely that's just grasping at straws, it's winter it's supposed to be cold you have the warmth from late April until the end of October. Time for us coldies to get our fair share of preferred weather surely?

Matt Hugo has posted his thoughts for winter here http://forum.netweather.tv/topic/78161-stratosphere-temperature-watch-20132014/?p=2827853
Just a quick question Summer Sun, why do you only post things on this thread and the model thread that are in favour of a mild solution for this coming winter? Only asking a question so don't take it the wrong way.

Weirdly quiet here after becoming quite wild an hour ago.
-
Big squally gusts here at the moment!
-
Has there been any near 100 mph winds yet?
I think touching 90mph is serious enough to warrant an amber warning in itself in all honesty.

Its still lightening no thunder now. Power went off for about two mins lol
A sign of things to come maybe later on this evening......

-
just had a powercut.
I'm not too far away from you mate but I've had no Thunder/Lightning & certainly no power cut, all very benign here at the moment.

89mph gust has now been recorded at Mumbles Head. Getting serious this now, however no mention of this on the mainstream news, I wonder why would that be.....

-
Up to 63mph for Southport now.
Metoffice gust map showing upwards of 60mph for Liverpool. Winds decrease inland but still 50+ MPH showing in places.
Cheers squire. I think this is gaining strength. The satellite is looking impressive, a well organised Storm.

What can the Liverpool/Manchester area expect to experience from this storm? Does anyone currently have any idea?

I take it by your views in other threads that the financial crisis has nothing to do with Labour wasting taxpayers money, I am not defending Cameron completely here, I am really thinking of defecting to UKIP, but every time the torys come to power this country is already saddled with massive debt caused by over spending.
It just said it was a joke, I don't wish to get political on a Winter thread. I have my views on Mr Camoron & Labour I will stick to the correct thread to give my views. Back on topic now, I'm still keeping everything crossed for a proper cold and snowy winter.

I think if we don't get a cold snowy winter we should all blame David Cameron, he's at fault for just about everything going wrong in this Country at the moment! lol (Before anyone bites I'm just joking!)

Nah, been like this for a few years now. We always get the blandest of what's on offer.
I feel your pain brother!
