No where near as bad as forecast for most places and not worth the red warnings for the majority of South Wales. That is a good thing mind because wot was forecast would have caused a lot more damage

Going by the Mad thread, the cold has all but completely dissappeared thismorning. Was this another phantom cold spell? Hopefully a miracle will happen later and the cold will ne shown again, but not looking very good now.
Im finding it so difficult to understand whats going on in there, will it, won't it I think I need to start blocking some of the one liner posters in there lol.
Do we know if the SSW for January is likely to happen?
Just stick to the more experienced posters who keep a level head and don't add emotion to what the charts are showing. If there are signs things can go wrong and it turns mild instead it usually does, when there's no signs of things going wrong and snowmageddon is forecast, even then be wary cos it usually ends up wrong and we end up mild and wet

Unless the meto backtrack and change the forecast my feet are firmly on the ground and I'm expecting a wet Xmas. that all changes to ❄ ❄❄

Sunday snow possible. But possible snow to rain. event. My personal opinion is that HP will not wilt but will fight back and hold back front over central Wales, and not turn to rain or March west to east across Wales.
Plenty of time for upgrades but I think we're just going to be unlucky this time for any disruptive snow, so on to the next chase which won't be to long

The last few sentences were "potential" for it to get wet but uncertainty on whether the mild will win or the cold so there's potential for snow as well so something to keep an eye on
In other words they haven't got a clue whats going to happen at the moment

They've already put the warnings out for Thursday and Friday but unfortunately not for us only eastern side of the uk

How many times have we had dry days forecast for it to turn out to be wet and miserable all day? The Atlantic will do what it does, bring mild and wet Just sit back relax and watch it all unfold and hopefully we'll be seeing snow, but if not there's always next time

Bring on warmer weather, this is crap.

There's always trees down, lorries overturned etc in storms every winter, you have heard more about this 1 because there was more media coverage from it being a red warning so you hear of everything newsworthy
