I must admit I’m getting really ****** off and frustrated with how much ‘Northern England and the Midlands’ is being mentioned for threat of rain and flooding when it’s blatantly obvious that Wales will bare the brunt of the rainfall and see huge flooding problems.

Never have I felt Wales’ irrelevance more apparent on this forum and by the MET than this year! It’s an absolute disgrace!

Going to buy a dinghey and listen to the Treorchy Male Voice Choir to cheer me up!

I wouldn't have said we're going to bare the brunt of it looking at the radar?

    Looking good

    UK long range weather forecast

    Sunday 17 Jan - Tuesday 26 Jan

Settled conditions for most on Sunday, however light rain may remain across the far east with blustery showers pushing across north and western parts at times. Into the next week unsettled conditions will continue with winds from the north bringing cold conditions from Scandinavia across much of the country by the end of the week. Rainfall is also expected for the north with a risk of organised snowfall especially over high ground. Drier in the south with the potential for frontal bands bringing rain and or snow at times. Temperatures most likely rather cold/cold for much of the UK, but a chance near or slightly above average in association with any rain that cross the south.

That's not strictly true of the Met Office to be fair they haven't made much of this snow at all in forecast and the warning for most of Wales away from high ground was for ice, so I think the metoffice were pretty close to the mark. Agree with the BBC still indicating snow moving south.

It's currently snizzling here but nothing more than that.

Totally agree with u I think meto have been spot on for wales, if u also read the matrix on the warnings that came out they were all unlikely or low impact which has been right. What I will say about this cold spell tho is it came in like a lamb, left like a lamb and didn't change in the middle either lol. We had a few clear days which was excellent but most of it has been grey skies and temps around 3-4c so tbh I'm glad to c the back of it and hope for something better further on down the line
