Thoughts on Wednesday's warning? Are the met office exaggerating?
I think its more of an ice warning issue than snow warning
It just doesn't feel cold out

Tiny flakes frozen on the roof but apart from that nothing, not even the mountains behind have got any evidence of anything wintry on them

The more I look at the radar and the more I look at the temps, the more underwhelmed I'm getting

Right. Tea drinking time now over, cooking and glass of wine time. Just popped outside to get some rosemary and it’s..... raining. Not even cold rain, or hard, or any other type of meaningful precipitation, just good, fine, mizzly rain.
I've just been outside to and doesn't feel very cold at all here, showers have been all rain so far but it gets a lot colder as the night goes on

Derek has put the nail in the coffin and said most snow on high ground! but we all know how accurate his forecasts are, 2010 being a disaster.
Timing of the precipitation should help but if not, above 150m maybe 100m should b all snow

North Wales first then filters south makes sense
Must hit warmer sectors as it filters south causing rain ? not snow?
-
Warnings are out and North Wales are in the game ❄ but mid and south still ain't at the mo
-
No warnings of snow from meto yet so they r either waiting till last thing or they don't c any accumulation of snow

Just had a look at the BBC forecast and it looks like snow from around 3am-7am around mid and South Wales Monday morning! Even Derek has said on his Twitter about snow.
Probably sleet here then and snow ❄ the higher up u go

New topic and new thread thanks @Osborne One-Nil so who's looking forward to the upcoming cold spell with around 60% of falling snow.
Not me tbh, I think I'll b on the wrong side of marginal so cold rain here but a few surprises might creep up later on. The valleys up could b in a sweet spot tho so good luck all

Just had a look in the mod thread and it looks like Midlands looks best for the snow. Accumulation of nothing for us lol.
Valleys etc may do well but lower levels and coast may b knife edge for us but we all get it

Will the cold weather be back or is that it for the cold
After Saturday it's a change to milder weather and after that who knows

I can c the excuses from the met already, we issued an amber warning due to the snow arriving during rush hour. When did 2-8cm become an amber warning? I've probably got the amount of snow that was forecast for here but I still can't get my head around y it was an amber warning

I'm in llanharan. It's settling
Ye everything turning white here, another 6 hours of this and I'll b happy lol

The precipitation just doesn't seem heavy enough to cause any problems, hopefully it will get heavier but I don't think it will
-
To my untrained eyes it looks like the front has stalled so maybe now it will start to tilt??

I just saw the itv wales forecast and it only went to 3pm, that says to me still loads of uncertainty and this could go either way. I'm not feeling confident where I am but I'd say 150m above should do well
-
Some hefty looking showers over in Ireland, r they going to make it all the way over the pond and give us some fun and games in the morning

I just watched the meto video forecast for Thurs and it's looking good for high ground with some decent accumulations but unfortunately cold rain and sleet for lower levels ie Cardiff etc
