    Raining here in Derby city Centre.Doesn't look like being much though.Still very humid.

    Morning all,it could be a busy day on here today hopefully.I have woken to grey skies here but could be in the right place for storms later on.I'm at work till 12 and then on a stag party down Nottingham,so hoping to catch a storm whilst having a pint in a beer garden somewhere!!,here's hoping.Well good look everyone lets see how the day pans out.

    A dull cloudy start with several hours of steady rain.Drier now with occasional glimeses of sunshine but still generally cloudy.Feeling cooler than yesterday with only a slight breeze.

    A dull start here,it's been raining steadily for the last 3 hours though skies are brightening up to the south.A very calm and still start unlike yesterday which had a nagging easterly all day.

    Heavy sleet here now.Nice surprise.But I'd certainly prefer the sun of yesterday morning to this!!.

    Light wet snow here but not settling.Bitterly cold North wind.

    I can't see it turning to snow here,even if it did it wouldn't settle as it is too wet on all surfaces.The snow would have to be pretty heavy to accumulate.

    Raining here now,so this cold spell is coming to an end.We had a slight covering this morning which lasted no more than 2 hours.Roll on Spring this winter has been so dull and damp and snowless!

    Light snow here,big flakes but failing to settle as yet!.

    Had a dusting of snow here earlier with a hard frost.Skies then cleared and it soon melted cloudy again now.

    Light snow earlier on left a dusting on cars,paths etc.Sun now out.

    We went to Ladybower in mid November so my lad could see his first snow there was a good covering there then.He is now 26 months and I had to prise him of the window at 7.00 am this morning as he watched the snow swirling past the the lamp post.But it soon turned to back to rain and in Derby City Centre there was no snow at all.

    Nothing in Derby either just light rain all afternoon.My little lad turned 2 in December and still hasn't seen any snow.We're just too far East.

    Jut moved the lawn for the last time this year,and now it is chucking it down,with sleet definitely mixed in!!.

    Just watched East Midlands Today and they had snowflakes over the Peak District! for tonight!!..

    A cool sunny start,cloud increased during the day to bring one or two sharp showers this afternoon.Cool NE breeze.

    Temperature fell to 1.5 here last night.First ice of the season on the car this morning.

    Some good 9 or 10booms of thunder to the east of here.I was mowing the lawn and had to keep stopping every time I heard a rumble just to make sure I wasn't imaginating it.Seems to be slowly dying away now though as it drifts SE.Still threatening skies though but no rain as yet.

    We had a storm on Thursday morning here at 3.30am and I'm just 5 miles north of Derby.I asked people at work in Derby if they had heard it and everyone said no!.First overhead storm for quieter a while here.The thunder was in short sharp cracks and extremely loud.I'd say there were 9 or 10 flashes and the rain was insane.Heres a image I found and you can clearly see the storm over Derby.

    Same here,first storm of the year at around 3.15am.Torrential rain for a good 20-25 mins.The thunder and lightning wasn't that frequent but boy it was loud sharp cracks,with very little in the way of rolling thunder heard.This could have been the same storm that you had as it pushed north.

    I can't understand why the lightning of this storm isn't showing on the radar?!.Possibly because the are Cg strikes.Can anyone help?!.

    Storm overhead now with torrential rain and gusty winds.Thunder and lightning getting more frequent with the thunder being in short sharp cracks.First storm of the year here.

    Here we go!!.Thunder and lightning just north of Derby.Not a lot but better than nothing.The rain is incredible!!.

    Well done to everyone who has seen storms today.Some impressive rain and lightning totals too.I live just north of Derby and again have missed out on the action.Here are 2 charts with lightning strikes from 27th August and today,with the usual gap over Derby.Oh well I guess there's a slim chance for tomorrow!!.
