Not as bad as last time but it' not been going as long as last time yet! Starting to get quite bad though with the wind. Last time it was exceptional but this is still damn impressive! Waiting for missus to come home from work council have put 4x4 on standy but nobody can get hold of them so it' a joke. No chance of getting my car out.

Really. There has been nothing for over an hour now few bits of dandruff blowing around but that's it!

Same here. Been telling people but loads of derision after yesterday being a reasonable day people don't believe the warnings.

What' the latest for it to start and disrupt trains in Cardiff guys? I was thinking from 4-5pm on they might start suffering?

That's my worry and what I commented on earlier what happened when 'big' events like this were forecast - sometimes they didn;t unfold which would be an incredibly downbeat scenario for most of us! I have been counting down the days for this to happen, kept reasonably quiet in work - only to insist they hire 4x4s for tomorrow and the weekend... so egg on my face if it doesn;t turn out as bad!

I was 15 in 1982 and remember it well living at high elevation in the valleys. Exactly same memories off school for 2 weeks and snow drifts shoulder height! However, I also remember in that era - late 70's / early 80's - going to bed with heavy snow forecast and hoping for a day off school - opening the curtains in the morning and nothing - forecast wrong! I am not saying this will happen but might be the potential for some disappointment, hopefully not.

Never - do they get filled daily - I didn't know that...... I don't need anything but thanks for the advice.

Hey, there is no need to have a pop. I'm posting a relevant observation - and you know it's not just the GFS that's doing this. There are a few possibilities appearing in some of the runs of a quick breakdown. I'll leave it alone for now then. It's obviously not as friendly as I thought - that's why I rarely post. JK

A lot of milder breakdown solutions now appearing at end of this week - but we have seen this before and they encroach into the earlier scenarios and we will end up with a 3-4 day event (which will be good don;t get me wrong) - but I was hoping the prolonged cold would stay around leading to more snow opportunities and the added excitement of them appearing at short notice. I hope this trend is only a model wobble as it cannot handle this 'different' scenario to our normal weather. However, as I have said it's concerning quite a few are now popping up. JK

Could be yet another lamppost watching late night! That's what I hate - they cover all angles - forecast rain, hail snow, sunny spells , cloudy and windy at times - job done - they have got the weather correct - somewhere! Forecast!
