  1. LOL @Angel Wings i am doing exactly that! Just went to wake up my daughter to see, just in fase it turned to rain ?
  2. It could get interesting if this carries on until lunchtime, as currently predicted, coinciding with the stiff breeze that we are forecast to get.....could create some nice landscapes, unless the wind cancells out any evaporative cooling that maybe assisting currently! Certainly going to be interesting seeing how this all unfolds.
  3. Yes @Daniel* i noticed that also, temperatures really taking a tumble. Snow now covering the road and pretty much everything else. Much better than i was expecting!☺
  4. @topbanana2011 small world! Just shows how finer line the North / South snow line is. Fingers crossed you get some of the good stuff soon. It could be a Sleet / Snow / Rain day.....temperature has dropped since 3.30 am which is a positive sign! ☺
  5. After Sleet at 3.30am we now have heavy snow which is settling on the wet ground....going to be an interesting days viewing! Its Christmas! ☺
  6. Hi @Team SquirrelSquirrel. The Acorns haven't gone unnoticed here also. I live on the outskirts of Burnham Beeches, have done for the past 14 years and i don't think i have never seen so many acorns and certainly not dropping so early in the Autumn.....hang on its still Summer! Leaves are also starting to go brown and fall. Also the other thing that has struck me is the abundance of all types of Fungi (even a pitch black one), i don't ever remember seeing so much and so many different types, and once again this early, they don't usually appear until well into autumn, when things get really damp. Believe me i'm not a keen Funghi photographer, but because of the spectical, that i haven't experienced, i couldn't help it!! I love Autumn! Have a nice afternoon!
  7. Latest Arpege shows that the main event will not initiate until later this evening and into Monday morning sfter the really juicy airmass is insitu......certainly feels like the humidity is on the rise! Godd luck everybody and enjoy!
  8. @Jhonny147 @stainesbloke Can confirm the same....heavy rain for the last half an hour....now starting to gust! As @Blessed Weather has questioned... the sting jet could give a few on this thread a surprise! So glad i cleared the gutters today, love Burnham Beeches...but not in my gutters! LOL
  9. Sting Jet confirmed by Fergie in the Storm Angus thread! Heavy rain here, slightly breezy!
  10. Hi All. Hope everyone is well? If anyone is interested below is a link to the Met Office Contingency Planner for Nov-Dec-Jan. Makes for interesting reading! Also a video of John Hammond discussing the prospects for the same period. http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/services/public-sector/contingency-planners Certainly very different to the last few years.....fingers crossed! 10000000_220559331707164_6908209296501112832_n.mp4
  11. It looks like its shifted North of High Wycombe towards Stokenchurch......:(
  12. Hi @loopydreamer yes your are on the right thread. Looks like you have a cell heading your way! Enjoy!
  13. Thanks for confirming @LeeRoyxD and congratulations! Enjoy and then send it my way LOL
  14. Sferics being produced from this cell South of Brighton.....things could be starting to initiate? can anyone in the Eastbourne area confirm?
  15. Unfortunately they seem to be losing their inensity and electrical activity as they move into the Channel! Hopefully, if they do manage the journey across and make landfall then maybe they will intensify again? Think it is a long shot as i dont see the ingredients or trigger available this side of the channel, unless im missing something? Fingers crossed, we can only hope!
  16. Yes @fine wine , certainly not the same in theW + NW..... ....think we can consider ourselves lucky that high pressure has treated us kind at last! Have a great day!
  17. @Surrey must have been this one? Let's hope this is the start of many? Enjoy!
  18. Yes @Surrey deeper low will mean Katie will track slightly further North.....looks like Arpege agrees....going to be a tad blowy tomorrow morning that's for sure!
  19. You may also like to visit the South East Regional thread as that should be pretty lively tonight. Some really nice knowledgeable people post in there also and would make you most welcome! Enjoy!
  20. Hi @Jen and welcome. Please can you add your location to your profile? It helps to know this when you are reporting weather conditions and events. I too will be watching with interest also. Good to have you on board!
  21. And here she is, a young Katie.... Wonder is she will grow into a wild child or angry witch.....only time will tell! I will be here, with those that are extreme weather enthusiasts, watching with interest! Get yourself a beer or a wine, sit back and watch events unfold!....could be a sleepless night!
  22. @Surrey yes, I'm the same. Very odd that they are so different so close to the event....We will have to wait and see what unfolds? Shower just about to hit here, sky very dark......now thundering! It's on its Way Surrey!
  23. Morning and Happy Easter! Think most of the detail available at this stage with regard Katie has already been discussed, however, see latest charts below for reference. GFS 850's and Wind Gusts 00z 03z Arpege Arome GFS Precipitation Certainly some notable weather overnight, worryingly so in the Channel / South coast. You would think that an Orange warning would be issued by the Met Office at some point today? Certainly will be interesting to see how this unfolds as there is still time for upgrades and downgrades, whichever your preference? In the here and now, sky has just gone black....looks like a hefty shower approaching! Have a good day all!
