  1. You were not wrong, thats for sure, It is really mild for this time of year. From inside it looks cold and damp...open the door and its quite a shock how mild it is, already 11.5 degrees. Will be interesting to see what temps can be achieved if the Sun makes an appearance later on? Have a nice day all!
  2. Jealous! That is truly incredible....imagine the chaos that would bring should that ever happen in our region....Im sure it would be classed as a disaster!
  3. Has anybody seen this? Nice little tool, especially for new members trying to make sense of the pressure charts and wind directions etc? http://www.meteociel.fr/modeles/gfse_3d.php?lat=47.13&lon=55.12&ech=240&zoom=6
  4. LOL..I just saw that and was thinking the same thing......and I thought it was a model discussion thread!!? Absolutely ridiculous isn't it?
  5. Lets hope so Surrey as we may not see a lot of sun for the next week judging by the Models!! That was the nice thing about the last few cold days......accompanied by sparkling sunshine!
  6. Never a dull moment! That is quite a temperature contrast and just shows how quickly weather conditions can change on our tiny Island! 06Z seems to have downgraded the wind for next Tuesday & Friday (charts attached for reference), however, this is just one run and plenty more time for upgrades or indeed downgrades...we shall see! The models, as they currently stand, do show an unsettled week coming up! 06Z show it raining from Tuesday 18.00 constantly until 15.00 on Thursday, that's a full 45 hrs of rain!! Have a nice afternoon all!
  7. Morning Surrey, I'm good thanks, hope everyone else is too....its Friday!! Dull, dark and damp here and certainly a big difference to 3 days ago Certainly looks a bit blowy in our region on Tuesday and Friday of next week! Charts attached for reference / discussion. Still some time to run on this, however, I do hope it verifies as I love a good wind storm! Have a great day all!
  8. Encouraging if this trend gathers any pace...I must admit I was surprised when the BBC mentioned the "E" word so early as they are usually over cautious in divulging such snippets of information. That being said the Met Office do get to peruse a whole set of model runs etc. that we do not get to see, so maybe there is something in it....."he says hoping"! Lets see whether the 12z's continue the trend! Have a good afternoon all! P.S. What a beautiful day! Don't really want to be shut in the office ...maybe time for a cheeky site visit!
  9. Morning all! Currently -6.9 degrees ! Can it get to -7 by the time I'm showered and ready for work? Think I may need to heat up the car before getting in it this morning! Going to Farnham first thing, so here's hoping the M25 and M3 are going to behave? Have a good day all. It did! Temp now -7.2 , car cleared, seats warm, ready for the off.... see you guys later!
  10. I really wouldn't bother PT......I took a peek and got out dam quickly .........terrible atmosphere , unlike here I might add nice, warm and cosy!
  11. Now either my thermometer is broken or its ridiculously cold this evening.....It's showing - 4.8! I must admit it does feel a lot colder out there than last night.
  12. Thanks for the reply Mapantz, that's very helpful. Have a good day. Incidentally, are you by any chance Cilffy from Met Monkey many moons ago.....?
  13. Hi Paul. Probably not the place to post this, however, I couldn't find anywhere else appropriate. How do you get the small text "Hello" to show above your avatar. Have tried several things but cannot find anywhere to enter this....Many Thanks Matt
  14. Same here Paget. It was -3.4 when I got up at 5.30am, went to have a shower and within 20 minutes the temperature had reduced to -4.0? Maybe there was some cloud cover that cleared? Have a good day!
  15. Good morning all of you lovely people! -3.4 and very frosty here! I must admit the speed the temperature was dropping last night led me to believe that I would be a little colder than that.....however, very cold for this area none the less Now to clear the car of frost and get the seats warm !! Have a nice day all!
  16. I think you are right Staines bloke. .... - 2.5 here and declining. Most definitely the coldest I have felt this winter, it's biting outside!
  17. Looks that way Surrey . Also, It does look like some places will struggle to get above 1degree tomorrow during the day, particularly areas that don't see any sun, therefore, most definitely the coldest 24hrs of this cold spell!
  18. Its amazing how strong that block is. Will be interesting to see if the models have under estimated its strength and the Atlantic, in fact, struggles to push it back East later Thursday / Friday this week? Food for thought? Have a great day all!
  19. I would agree. If you look at the attached image for Wednesday you can see the SE still under high pressure, increasingly under attack from the Atlantic...It's not until Thursday / Friday that the high pressure gives way........obviously this could change given the uncertain model output of late, however, they do seem to be slowly getting their act together ?
  20. Hi March, please could you put your location onto your profile? It will then sit underneath your avatar and we will all know know where your pictures have been taken. Welcome to the forum, you will enjoy it here! ☺
  21. Well said Paget, I second that! You will all be seeing a lot more of me in the future, that's for sure! ☺
  22. Only a slight covering here, probably not enough to make a snowman but makes it feel like winter none the less....now for a walk in Burnham Beeches! Have a nice day all! ☺
  23. Same here! The worst that could happen?......Hangover with snow in the morning.....I would take that! LOL
