  1. No problem Surrey, I know Staines well as we have a Regional office on the Causeway, your only 20 min away! LOL
  2. Would also like to add that whilst I would love to get some snow, if I don't, and some of you lovely people get a covering I would be as equally happy for you. I can get to most places in our region within 2 hours, therefore, not a problem if I feel I need to see some snow. Therefore, if any on here are lucky enough to get what has so far eluded most this winter, let me know, get the coffee on or beers out as I maybe paying your towns, villages or cities a visit....If the roads have been gritted that is!
  3. Absolutely, I will get you to pop next door and suggest just that LOL....In fact in the short term, I.e. This weekend, as far as I can see it's an upgrade for snow in some parts of our region from earlier runs? The desperation next door is all about next Wednesday / Thursday which has downgraded (one run only), which at 5 days away was always likely to change, for better or worse....It still may do. Really frustrates me that we are getting the cold in, and rather than see what transpires in the here and now, people start looking for the breakdown or get excited by synoptics in FI, forgetting what's on the or doorstep! It's only one run.......
  4. Think that's probably best Elvis, let's wait and see what happens.....We all know that snow is hard to forecast even upto 6/12 hours prior to any event.....word of caution, don't go into the MOD thread, lots of wrist slashing in there! Very depressing!
  5. Try these - From today until Monday? Accumulated Rain ...... Accumulated Snow...... Not very hopeful for snow based upon these!
  6. Cheers Mapantz, thats very helpful...for the 3rd time this week!! Gold Star for you!
  7. Ah right, that makes sense then...lets hope it verifies?! Thanks for the reply.
  8. Quite! As early as Monday see's the Region Bath in -7 Uppers....... 528 Dam line way South.... Temperatures not too bad...... However, generally it looks quite dry, therefore, the East Coast maybe do well out of any showers that do form from convection and others close by if the showers survive and travel far enough inland? Can they get as far as me and @Surrey.......only time will tell. Still a long way off in meteorological terms, however, something to keep an eye on over the next few days? Have a lovely afternoon...said it earlier.....what a beautiful day!
  9. Hi Daniel, is that chart for this Sunday or next? It says Sunday 21st of February.....? If so, that looks pretty encouraging for the end of next week if that is an accumulation chart? Still learning so please correct me if I am wrong! Incidentally where can you view that chart, never seen it online before? Have a good day.
  10. Morning all.....gorgeous morning, cold, heavy frost and pink clouds....how a winters morning should be if we cant have snow! Still a very, very slight risk of seeing something wintry on Sunday Evening if these charts verify..... Slackish flow from the continent..... 528 Dam line across most of the Region..... Some light precipitation, therefore, no evaporative cooling there!...... Temperature not great, however, one massive 'Straw Clutch' is that the flow is from the continent, therefore, the air will be drier......? Nothing much to hang your hat on, probably a little sleet at best, however, miracles do happen, don't they......? Some interest for something more wintry next week as @Daniel* has posted above, however, its too early to predict what will happen at this range, therefore, for now, just some interesting charts to view. I'm sure we will all be speaking about them in the next few days willing them to verify!! Have a great day all.
  11. I know Surrey, I feel your pain! Seems to be a pivotal geographic location that everything seems to happen either North or South of, have cursed it on a number of occasions especially when watching huge Thunder storms in the distance, waiting for a direct hit, then hearing all in Reading / Newbury getting them!! Seem like the hard shoulder may be my next abode! LOL
  12. Hi Mapantz That is a really impressive set up there, well done. Is the data on your website taken from your Netatmo system or Vantage Vue (im pretty sure you have both systems, from past posts?) Also, is it a bespoke web site that you have built yourself or is it based upon software that anybody can purchase? Interested in building something like this myself for my location, however, don't really know where to begin to be honest? Have a good day! You can PM me if preferred to keep the thread uncluttered?
  13. If anybody lives on the hard shoulder or the central reservation of the M4 then you could potentially be in luck first thing on Sunday morning....don't say you haven't been warned! LOL Have a good day all!
  14. Its Snowing in South Gloucestershire, therefore, the risk shown on that chart wasn't far off, albeit slightly earlier than predicted? A slight chance for some in the region also on Saturday from 12pm to 12am Sunday if the low pressure system can drag enough cold air in on its NW flank...... still a little way off, but none the less, one to watch over the next few days...some of us may get lucky. Have a good day all!
  15. Aahhh Jo, a nice, smiley, cheeky poster...how we have missed you today! How's the haunted mansion?
  16. I must admit I am really dissapointed with this thread today....I have been a member of Netweather for a fair few years now, not as long as most of you, maybe more than some. I have spent a lot of time learning from the various threads over time and 'think' I have enough knowledge and confidence to post my thoughts and opinions and that is thanks to the various posters from all of the threads, including some of the serial posters on this thread. Have always been a little apprehensive of actually posting until I felt I could either add something positive to the discussion or maybe even pass on the knowledge that I have gained to some that are new to this complicated and fascinating subject! Finally felt confident and comfortable to finally post and chose this thread because, I am from the Region, and more importantly I knew, from many years of reading in the shadows, it was friendly, light hearted and seems a lot less stressful than the MOD thread. Have really enjoyed posting the last couple of weeks and being part of the discussions regarding the potential of a storm and then actual storm to arrive. When Imogen did actually materialise, after a lot of model watching and discussion, whilst this thread should have been buzzing and informative it's been quite the opposite, which is a real shame for the daily posters and actual weather enthusiasts that have visited to get involved with meaningful discussion or to gain further insight. This was an event today, whatever your preference or opinion, just gutted that the thread was ruined by IMBYisms and petty arguments which made the thead very hard to follow and probably put off members from posting anything insightful, which is a shame....let's not make it the MOD thread! Apologies for long post....rant over!
  17. Exactly what I was thinking...I was in and out of the thread for most of yesterday, as I am when there is a significant event looming and I cannot remember anybody mentioning 1987, maybe wrong , but cannot recall it? ........ 1987 was an entirely different kettle of fish to Imogen, although she is still significant in her own right!
  18. Exactly, peak winds are not expected until between 12 & 5/6pm, prior to this it will slowly wind up from a breeze to 50, 60 mph winds, with some locations seeing 70mph depending on location and local terrain, including buildings, which can create a tunnelling affect in densely built up areas.
  19. Oh dear, I see now...they are not going to be happy! You better fix it on your way back! Have a safe day!
  20. OMG, are you OK? I take it you were sitting on it an are now somewhere inside the hedge behind? LOL
  21. Best of Luck Adam...stay safe and hold onto your hat....If you have one that is! Have a good day!
  22. Yes an organised band of very heavy rain stretching from Andover to Maidenhead moving ENE, squally winds also.
  23. Thank you for the second time today! Makes sense now! Have been !!!
  24. Imogen shaping up nicely! You can clearly see the rash of showers (potentially thundery) ahead of the main storm system. Certainly going to be an interesting 24 hrs if you like this kind of event or not!? Take care tomorrow whilst travelling to and from work and especially those that will be working outside......well trying to!
  25. Apologies to all needed to post this to try and clear a problem I am having. When posting it's showing my last posts and quoting people from hours ago, therefore, please don't read as content is history!!! Let's hope this sorts the problem out!? Any one else had this issue?
