  1. I was surprised at the lack of precipitation associated with Imogen showing on the chart's for tomorrow. Just posted this in the Storm Imogen thread for reference.
  2. She is a thing of beauty! Nature amazes me....It can produce these powerful, sometimes unpredictable forces, in all manner of guises, some of them devastating, and we can do nothing about it, apart from learn more about how and why, sit back and watch in awe! ......then we have to clear up the mess LOL
  3. Hi Matty. I don't think the rainfall totals that are predicted to accompany Imogen are going to be too troublesome as the attached charts display. That being said, they will have an acculumative affect on already sodden ground and high river levels.....going to be an interesting day, that's for sure!
  4. Hi Surrey. Is your girlfriend all better now? I've also noticed it getting gusty again, beautiful day though...The calm after one and before the other! Tomorrow is certainly going to be interesting, I'm a little excited to be honest! Our car park at work runs parallel to the River Wye with some pretty tall trees lining the bank.....won't be parking close to them, especially with the already sodden ground from yesterday evening / nights deluge! That being said I am glad I'm not using the motorways tomorrow! I was supposed to be travelling to Brighton first thing, but cancelled on Friday based upon what we were seeing on the charts.....looks to have been a good call!
  5. Not yet Adam. I think the met usually review again around 5pm? Will let you know once I have had an alert when there has been an update. As things stand, i would be very surprised if the amber boundary isn't located further North......
  6. She's no looking too bad.....nice shape to her......maybe leave the light on!
  7. Just adding to Adam's post, if the rain is of sufficient intensity it may help to reduce the temperatures further due to evaporative cooling. Knife edge stuff and very marginal, however, somebody in our region may get lucky!
  8. Hi Daniel I was thinking the same thing... The Amber warning doesn't quite reflect what is showing on the gust chart? If the gust chart was produced after the updated warning from earlier, then, you would think the amber warning would be extended further North (of London) on the next update? ......watch this space! Have a good day!
  9. See charts above, but I would say any time between 3pm and 6PM, then easing a little, however winds will still be strong I would think up to 11pm.
  10. Sat image of the Centre of the storm system to the North West of Ireland and NWP chart for reference / comparison. Beginning to get quite gusty now....hold on to your hats!
  11. Quite a notable spell of weather for our region over the next few days! Concentrating on today's events.... although nothing like the North Regions have encountered recently, certainly an episode not often encountered in Southern Regions....stay safe all and have a lovely weekend!
  12. Wind gust chart attached for reference......you may be OK, however, it will be a tad blowy, therefore, you may need your strong arm to keep hold rather than waving goodbye!
  13. Now that has just made me laugh! You are hilarious! I suppose it depends what time you go, just don't come back on Monday or you may have some issues!!
  14. Absolutely! Love those hot sultry evenings hearing the distant 'booms' rolling in the distance, hoping to get a direct hit . More usually than not, they travel just to the South of here on a NE tragectory and you get all the fun Surrey!
  15. Nice photo! Am I jealous? ........very! LOL... Now go and enjoy it and we want a picture of a snowman later! Have fun!
  16. Afternoon all. Squall Line forming as the front clears.... could prove interesting if it gets organised and reaches this far?
  17. Morning All. Yes it looks that way Surrey, constant rain from approx. 3pm this afternoon eventually clearing 3am on Thursday morning, a whole 36 hours of rain (charts attached for reference)....could potentially see some localised flooding? Potentially some gusty winds later also? Have a nice day all!
  18. Evening all, hope everyone has had a nice day? Looks a little wet and windy tomorrow afternoon / wednesday and the models starting to consistently show another windier spell Friday into Saturday (charts attached for reference). Both systems accompanied by rain, amounts and locations most at risk, with particular reference to tomorow and Wednesday, will have firmed up by tomorrow morning. Fridays will obviously upgrade / downgrade as the week progresses, depending on your preferences, therefore, for now one to keep an eye on. Have a nice evening all.
  19. Hi Paget! Glad to see you are back and recovering! It was an amazing sky this morning! The moon was so bright first thing with aeroplane vapour trails criss crossing its body and halo, then the sky was as shown in your photo. blue and pink! Not bad for a Monday morning! I still think this winter will spring a few surprises, even the Met are stating the possibility of a Mid Atlantic High Pressure bringing in some form of Northerly....if this does become a reality lets hope it is from the North and not North West as that would surely be more fruitful for our region....North East preferable, but I think that would be pushing it from the predicted synoptics? There are a lot of knowledgeable people here willing to help you out Paget, so you are in the right place to learn in a calm and friendly atmosphere. That being said the same could be said for the MOD thread apart from the calm and friendly part! Have a lovely day all.
  20. And prior to this Friday is not without interest? Models keep toying with the possibility of it being a tad windy in our region. One to keep an eye on in the next few days as the models firm up on details. Sorry to hear that Surrey. Glad all is OK now! Certainly some interest in FI as, I think, the models get to grips with the partial warming of the stratospheric vortex and it's subsequent displacement... Certainly something to keep things interesting, as well as this week's potential events.

  22. Models portraying a wet and wild mid week period (charts attached for reference).....still time for change though, better or worse, whichever your preference! Have a nice Sunday all!
