  1. it's all very well these locations at altitude saying they have heavy snow. The BBC forecast made it sound like 'low level' places were going to see heavy snow too. Most of the population live at low level altitude

yeah and no doubt there will be reporters standing at the top of a hill saying how bad it is, to try to justify the bad weather rather than in the middle of a town centre at a low altitude

  2. I knew the Beeb had called this wrong, had a feeling they would. I've seen them give us heavy snow in set ups like this about 3 times in the past and it's ended up being rain/sleet. It's happened once again. Crap event, end of.

the beeb underplayed sundays event and got egg on their face, so today they overplay it but joe public won't care, only us lot will slag them off

  3. snow has turned into a slushy mess now, and it is a hassle to walk in, since we aren't gonna have a fresh top up, i say roll on the weekend and the milder air to clear this disgusting slush

didn't do that great here tbh only the three inches, but it was still a decent cold spell in terms of the longevity, usually its a two day toppler then back to mild crap but two weeks of cold. albeit not very cold is good for this country, it would be silly to expect weeks and weeks of cold and snow consecutively

  4. I would presume the temperature is rising due to the cloud cover associated with the system, I am reading a due point of -1.3 so my guess is that it will be wet snow not like the other day. The radar at present does show ppn moving towards this area although to be fair it's showing sleet although areas of pink are starting to appear.

well i hope this site is wrong then, my weather station says 0.9c but i don't have a dewpoint on it,
