  1. its funny when the presenters always have a worried look on their face when they mention snow, and when they mention mild their faces light up and they grin like a cheshire cat

sadly most of joe public don;t like snow, too much of an inconvenience to them even though it only happens once in a blue moon, but they still moan about it

  2. i want winter out the way now tbh, i can't take any more let downs, though whats the betting GFS shows a raging easterly at 240+ on future runs and yet again we fall for it only for the usual last minute downgrades to happen, there are a few myths on here like blocking is underestimated by the models, GFS goes to default and the PV quietens down in feb, that isn't always the case

oh and this is the moaning thread so i can throw my toys out the pram as much as i like, we wait all year for these kind of synoptics only for it to implode, why shouldn't we moan, thats all we can do isn't it. i am not a part of the blind faith brigade, plus i don't get all the ian brown praise, he called mild when mild usually favours cold on this island, its not a hard call to make, so you could say then why i am annoyed if i expected a downgrade, well because deep down i really had hopes this time, even though i was pessimistic about our chances

  3. The thought of a cold, frosty period makes me happy, but the thought of having a snowless January makes me feel slightly sick if I'm honest with you. Just one snowfall will do, like January and February 2011 or February 2010.

frosty weather is more common than people think, i don't know why people get happy over it when we could have had so much better Aka yesterday's ECM, unless of course we get ice days with hard frosts, but if its just regular 6c or 7c with frost at night that is tedious
  4. Darren Bett was grinning like a Cheshire cat on the forecast he just gave which is benign and mild for this week, how can anyone who is interested in the weather not like snow, it baffles me, i can understand people not liking cold, these synoptics we have atm are so tedious but we shouldn;t be surprised really, its normal well except for in summer

  5. ugh what ugly charts, though im not surprised, the azores high hasn't been around much since last winter so it was due at some point, as its a common synoptic, we had loads of blocking this year, did anyone honestly expect it to still be carrying on now, if we were getting these charts in late feb i would welcome it but not in the middle of winter, it could not happen at a worse time, ah well i suspect high ground in the north will get a pasting in march or april like they did this year, snow in march and april is overrated esp down south. can't remember many times where i have seen lots of snow in those months

thats me being negative, me being positive is hoping this SSW delivers brutal cold for us, but i generally am not a part of the blind faith brigade

also i would like to say im not writing of winter, but if we have to wait till late feb for snow, that won't really make a winter will it, this years early feb cold spell was good for some parts but most people still said it was a crap winter

if only the days were longer i could start my crops 2 months early, they won't die if it stays like this
