  1. 4.5C recorded at 2pm which is surprising given the lack of cloud cover. AROME hinting at some snow showers tomorrow morning!
  2. Hoping for unexpected snow given the lack of forecasted snow for almost the whole region.
  3. Highest minimum temperature recorded last night - 24.5C. Quite surprised considering forecasts were suggesting temperatures drop down to 19C.
  4. Current minimum temperature 18.4°C here which is a fair bit off the 22.7°C recorded last week. Models suggesting a maximum temperature of 38°C to 40°C tomorrow.
  5. Maximum temperature 36.9°C so far in Warwickshire (Wellesbourne Airfield). Not far off the Midlands record of 37.1°C recorded in 1990, but the station record of 35.4°C in 2019 has been beaten. Temperature has dropped slightly now, and not expecting much further rise given the time.
  6. Nothing much to speak of here in Warwickshire (as usual). Maximum recorded gust only 46mph.
  7. I thought last week was bad with this anticyclonic gloom... then came this week
  8. Almost 100% cloud cover forecasted here every single day this week. Might as well be November.
  9. Was hoping to see some sun today before the upcoming cloud fest next week, but it's just been another November-like day (except warmer). Really hoping next weekend will bring something much more pleasant than this.
  10. Clearly these clouds have no intention of moving out of here today.
  11. Cloudy again in Warwickshire, and this was supposed to be the sunniest day until next week's cloud fest...
  12. The satellite earlier showing the Midlands being engulfed with clouds. Temperatures barely lifted above 18C here with almost no sunshine whatsoever, which is not impressive by any means.
  13. Very gloomy day here, even gloomier than yesterday, and temperatures disappointing for this time of the year.
  14. Once again a murky day, however at least the next few days are forecasted to be nice.
  15. Shame about the complete lack of storms today, but as someone else said at least nobody is really missing out.
  16. Honestly these cold-ish overcast and showery conditions can only be described as dire. It's not cold enough for snow in most areas, and I'd much rather see a return to at least semi-decent temperatures and sunshine anyway. Some people in the model thread (a very small minority) seem to be obsessed with the idea of having a few snow showers in mid-April, but personally I don't see the appeal especially with the easing of lockdown upcoming.
  17. The forecast for the next week or so really is disappointing. Just looks to be cold, cloudy, and breezy with a couple of rain showers. I guess the only good thing is that it is relitavely dry.
  18. Impressive wind gusts forecasted across southern areas tonight - widely 60mph, approaching 80mph in localized spots. Definitely seems to be underestimated by the MO with only yellow warnings.
  19. I'd like to agree, but the easterly in February failed to deliver (in my area), and was especially cloudy. The snowfall in January was the best of the winter here. ?️
  20. Nice day today, prefer this to anything we've had so far this month.
  21. Could be looking at some very mild possibly even warm temperatures with decent sunshine next week.
  22. Very nippy and dull again today, don't see that front making it's way into most areas, except the usual spots in the far north which always get the most snow.
  23. People have their own personal preferences, not everybody likes cold and dry conditions. Similarly, not everybody is a fan of hot and dry conditions in the summer. I prefer colder weather when it bring an increased snow risk, but also much prefer sunnier weather to overcast weather (like most people), no matter the time of the year. You're quite right in that cold weather often comes with way more sunshine than milder weather, which is why I usually prefer it. However, I don't particuarly like cold days which come alongside cloudy conditions unless it is keeping snow on the ground. It wouldn't make sense if a cold weather lover compained about the cold, but there is a distinguishment between loving snow and loving cold.
