  1. Potential for snow later - if it's cold enough, but Sunday looks to be of particular interest. But as we've discovered this year, it's still too early to guarantee anything, still nice to see potential after the miserable week just gone.
  2. I’d rather that pathetic band of rain/snow doesn’t approach us, because it will probably end up bringing drizzle, or perhaps flurries/light sleet.
  3. Looks like it's a miss for the vast majority of the Midlands. Localized snow showers is probably the best we will get.
  4. Nothing falling in Stratford, and the radar doesn't look promising.
  5. Models are strongly in favour of milder conditions next week. I feel like many posts on the MOD thread focus on what people want to hear rather than looking at the realistic probability of future events (i.e. by cherry-picking favourable model outputs and ignoring the rest).
  6. Stratford once again missing out by a few miles at most. Sure we got a bit of snow earlier, but it didn't settle at all. Hopefully tonight delivers something slightly further East.
  7. Models are definitely not promising for snowfall across the region in the short-term, as reflected by the MetO warnings. Perhaps a few flurries at best but even that will be isolated. Having said that, there do seem to be opportunities in early/mid Janaury for snow events!
  8. No settling snow in Stratford, but at least what is falling from the sky is snow.
  9. I think the worst thing is that we have only just missed out on both occasions.
  10. Most of Warwickshire was too far north/east for snowfall yesterday, and too far south today (given that any precip will start turning into sleet/rain as temperatures rise).
  11. The recent charts are not very promising for the region. It looks like the snowfall event for tomorrow night will target southern areas. It is starting to rain here, which is really quite unfortunate.
  12. Models for tomorrow are favouring snowfall in areas to the west of the region, which is rather unfortunate for those who did not receive any today. Having said that, it is only the 6Z run and none of them seem to be very good when it comes to predicting the exact location of snowfall (as was the case this morning). Any snow that does fall tomorrow won't last very long (especially on lower ground) given that maximum temperatures are between 3-6C.
  13. To be honest it really doesn't really matter whether or not a snow event is reported on the news. I don't doubt that snow events are more frequently reported when they occur in London, but I wouldn't consider this to be a topic that needs reporting - unless it is widespread and causes notable disruption across large swathes of the country. As for the snowfall itself, it was further west than forecasted which meant that many areas in the Midlands did not receive any notable snowfall.
  14. Can report an incredibly measley 0cm in Stratford. Based on the radar, we should have received snow but clearly we are too far east and only by a few miles at most. Very disappointing.
  15. Are you actually serious? The one actual chance to get a decent storm ***** up and instead I end up hearing distant rumbles to my North again?! What a way to top up and already terrible week in Stratford.
  16. Grey skies and showers here, with the South Midlands clearly missing out once again with storms favouring areas to the North, West, and East.
  17. Another miserable morning, with light rain showers and a temperature of 17C. Hopefully some sunshine will break through later, regardless of storms.
  18. I guess there are still more opportunities for southern and central areas on Sunday and early next week, given that tomorrow looks unlikely to deliver.
  19. It’s just dire isn’t it. Reminds me of those overcast miserable July days, and it’s even worse knowing other parts of the country are either sunny or stormy.
  20. Not impressed with how the South Midlands has done throughout this week given the potential. At the start of the week the storms seemed to form over us and push northwards over the North Midlands, which meant that we only got a few distant rumbles at most. Wednesday delivered a pretty intense rainstorm but it certainly wasn’t one of the best I have seen. And today has been the worst day of the lot, just like one of those miserable July days we had last month. Will tomorrow deliver? I’m not hopeful.
  21. This day has been very disappointing, and not just storm-wise. Been under cloudy skies ever since that band of rain this morning, and the temperature has been a measly 19C all day! That is way off the forecasted 27C, in fact it’s probably one of the least accurate temperature forecasts I have ever seen.
  22. Naff day so far. Only 19C, overcast, and very few thunderstorms in sight with the lack of heat.
  23. Still cloudy and chilly in the South Midlands, temperatures around 19C! I would rather have the 25C with sunshine and no storms than this rubbish.
  24. It should hopefully budge from our area within the next hour or so, but it’s really isn’t in a hurry to go anywhere.
  25. This band of rain just needs to get a move on, it’s not producing much convective activity whatsoever (except in the East) and is really bringing the temperature down which won’t help storms to develop later in the day.
