  1. No snow, and barely any wind. Not the greatest forecast (which was for 50mph wind gusts).
  2. Wind appears to be further East than forecasted, and also much later. Snow isn't existent here.
  3. Widespread 50mph gusts tonight, even 60mph in the Central and East Midlands between around 5am and 7am. Unlike most, this storm will be most intense as it passes the Midlands. Unfortunately for snow lovers, any wintry precipitation will most likely be sleety or wet, perhaps more snowy in the West. Minimum temperatures will only be slightly above freezing, and maximum temperatures around 5C. This is just too high for snow to settle. On the upside, there is a chance of settling snow (even at lower levels) on Saturday/Sunday night.
  4. This does not look promising for tommorow night:
  5. As long as Warwickshire isn't the ONLY part of the Midlands with no snow, I won't be too fussed. However, if Warwickshire is the only area without snow, I will sure be bloody peed off with this erratic weather.
  6. Snowflake symbol disappeared in my area. LOL.
  7. So apparently yesterday wasn't even near a gale day, the maximum 10 minute average wind speed was only 25mph in Coventry!
  8. I doubt records were broke here, maximum gust of 57mph in an airfield near my area - which isn't really a record-breaker, though maybe for November alone.
  9. Winds decreasing now, but barely increased at 9pm.
  10. Why does the West Midlands always have to be in the minority
  11. I really hope the AccuWeather Winter forecast is inaccurate - which it probably will be to some extent. I would much rather see snow than 'seasonal' conditions.
  12. ACCU have released their winter forecast for 2015/16. To be honest, it isn't really what I was hoping for but not as bad as it could be. Anyway, here is the forecast: England should expect seasonal conditions throughout, whilst Scotland should expected cold spells. A measly five days of snow/ice is forecasted for London: I can pretty much guarantee this will be more accurate than Nathan Rao's forecast on the Express (which is most likely from Exacta Weather).
  13. Summer 2015 (vs 2014) Temperature Summer 2015 was slightly below average in terms of temperature. Despite a brief heat-wave to start July, temperatures were not that great overall, especially towards the end of July. August 2015 wasn't as cool as 2014, but June and July 2015 were cooler. Rainfall Summer 2015 was average in terms of rainfall. June was the drier month with rainfall below average. Rainfall was generally average during July and August. Not significantly different compared to last year. Sunshine Summer 2015 was average in terms of sunshine. June was the only month in which sunshine was above average, July was average and August was below average. Last year was sunnier, with all areas seeing above average sunshine. June and July were not as bad as 2012, but August was. 2015: 2014: Thunderstorms June 2015 wasn't impressive, but June does tend to disappoint on some years. June 2014 was far more impressive. July 2015 was generally a poor month. Most of the strikes shown on the map were from the storm following the plume. Nevertheless, that one storm should have impressed most of the Midlands except the far west. Last year was generally much better, with thunderstorms being widespread and occurring on more days - especially towards mid-month. The map differences make it seem as if there were many more strikes last year, but the red icons are much larger than the blue crosses. August 2015 was the worst of the summer months for most of the Midlands (except the far west). There was very limited lighting activity across the region, and most of the strikes only came from daytime localised thunderstorms. August 2014 was much better across the region, as you can see from the maps below. The only exception was the far West Midlands. Conclusion Summer 2015 isn't one to remember. It was a very average month overall, but with fewer thunderstorms than average. Hopefully autumn will be of more interest and hopefully will be less gloomier and more warmer.
  14. Managed to avoid all the thunderstorms today! 2015 remains at only 2 thunderstorms recorded here.
  15. August was an incredibly dull month, especially in the Central Midlands. July started off nicely, but went downhill, especially towards the end of the month when temps barely rose above 15C and tended to drop into single figures. June was OK. The summer has been appaling for thunderstorms here though - only recorded 2 thunder days! Especially compared to the SE.
  16. This summer has really been a disappointment, along with winter and spring which were also disappointing. Thunderstorms in particular were really disappointing (excluding one near the start of July). On average we should get 10 thunder-days per year, most of them occuring in summer, but only 2 managed to kick off this summer (in Warwickshire). August was the biggest dissapointment with NO thunder observed throughout - not even the slightest rumble! Temperatures have been pretty average, probably below overall. Started July with a short-lived hot spell and ended July with mild winter-like temperatures. The number of overcast days have been appaling this summer. I can hardly recall a day where the sun had been out all day. June was perhaps acceptable, August has been bad though.
  17. Torrential downpour here which lasted about two minutes. Will have drenched everyone stuck outside for sure.
  18. Horrible day, with persistent light rain and temperatures barely above 15C!
  19. Convection kicking off North of me in Birmingham! That shower was just over my area and is now convective?!?!
  20. This day wont be missed! I actually thought something would pop up and impress Warwickshire, but no.
  21. Warwickshire did attrociously today. Im in the NSC. :/
