  1. I'm clutching at straws for July, the only positive seems to be the outlook from Exeter Off to the SW on hols from the 12th so the weather will really make or break that week for me
  2. Well I suppose we can now add Scotland to the growing list of places better than the N Midlands for storms Anyone on here see any action today? I caught some lovely cloudscapes as the front passed over
  3. Feels scorching here, Weather Station currently showing 26.6
  4. What a day! I posted a couple of links a few days back before the storm risk about 28th June 2012 Here's another good one for anyone interested https://rmets.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/epdf/10.1002/wea.2162
  5. I haven't been keeping a storm log for long enough to have a reliable data set, but the annual thunder days here have significantly declined since 2017, this of course could just mean that 2013-2016 was an unusually active period... I wish we had some data on all of the big storm events since the 70s/80s, would be very interesting to see that's for sure
  6. If you think it's bad in the east try moving to the North Midlands, I haven't had a storm at my home location for 3 years now!!
  7. So Sunday night was a bust for the main forecast area, and last night was the same! Once again mother nature proving how difficult it is to forecast thunderstorms!
  8. Does seem a rather strange call by Tomasz S A few others mentioning that the system will re-invigorate possibly into another MCS once those cells make landfall in the UK Good luck everyone!
  9. I sincerely hope UKMO are incorrect with that call.. im down in the SW on hols for 2nd/3rd weeks of July GFS looking swell out to 240 Edit* Also develops a UK high further out Positive signs ahead?
  10. You are crackers mate, i was planning on heading South too but having work at 9am put me off, i admire your dedication!
  11. I'm not sure there is even forecast to be any sort of thundery breakdown at the weekend is there? Looks more like the Atlantic just shoving its way back in
  12. People on twitter claiming that the storms over France are currently showing "supercell characteristics". Solely based on what can be seen on radar The S word gets thrown around far too much
  13. Our time will come Crewe, it has to eventually right? Anyway, good luck to all you folk down south, make sure to keep the pics and vids flowing!
  14. Another upgrade for Monday night into Tuesday from the EURO4 Some crazy rainfall totals there!
  15. Cell just passed through here, no lightning unfortunately but some nice heavy rain
  16. None showing for me, anyone else having trouble with the lightning detector sites tonight?
  17. It makes me chuckle that i'm getting excited over a few measly strikes up here yet i can almost guarantee there will be an absolute lightning barrage further South tomorrow If i didn't have work on Tuesday id be blasting straight down the M1 tomorrow evening
  18. The sky has a strange orange tinge to it here, similar to that of snow filled sky in the winter
  19. Well at least i'll get a good nights sleep for work tomorrow Just typical really, you wait forever to be in a decent risk zone, then it all dwindles away into nothing, the joys of being a storm nut i suppose!
  20. They just posted an amended forecast to Facebook, can't link it as I'm on mobile Edit: here's the map
